Amen at the end of the day it should always be about winning first everything else a distant second. That said, there is merit to the thought that certain players play winning football and others while not necessarily playing losing football, don't do enough of the things that lead to winning football if that makes sense. I want Zeke to play because he's one of those guys who plays winning football. He is a good all around football player. I know some think he isn't capable of more than he is doing for the Cowboys.. I just happen to disagree. I think he CAN do more.. but they don't ask that of him.. and he has been a really good soldier about doing what HAS been asked of him. Coaches love guys like that.. even if some fans don't. That willingness to do whatever it takes for the good of the team is why Zeke will be able to play in the league as long as he wants to.
We’ll see how long he can play in this league for 15 million a year. And that’s why his contribution , production and impact is in question .

I don't generally get caught up in worrying about salaries. Zeke got his reward for that 3 year stretch of being the best RB in football and one of the best players period. That put over $50 million in his bank account. I think he's set for life and can play for pennies after this year. And I believe a guy like him will. Play for pennies that is. He clearly loves the game, loves competing and loves being with his brothers (teammates).. Whether he stays in Dallas or goes elsewhere I expect him to continue to be a good football player and a good teammate. Maybe the years have taken the "great" out of his description.. We will never find out as long as he's with Kellen Moore.

We’ll soon find out if he’ll play for Pennie’s. If he does he might find a home to finish out his career. If not it’s probably over.

zeke was never the best rb in football. He just ran behind the best line.

zeke’s days as a great back we’re done a few years ago.

if anything zeke should thank Moore for continuing to feature him when any other OC would be playing pollard the better back more.

Yah will do anything for the team but share the Carrie’s and sit when he’s injured.

what a guy!!! And that trip to Cabo when everyone else was working hard at TC? Real team first guy! Lol

nothing like holding out half way through you contract.

Lol the running did not miss Zeke.

Oh yes it did.
He was not on the field to wear down the GB defense. Therefore with a 14 point lead his power would have helped tremendously.

I know you all don't want to hear the truth...but that IS the truth, and you all know it.

It's strange the way some of you so call fans, struggle to see the big picture.

We have some pretty hateful fans out there, who care more about their personal agendas to be right over winning.
They claim otherwise, but yet every post or the majority, the can only focus on one or two players. And their angst against them.

Even beyond the physical toll Zeke takes on the defense I firmly believe that on 3rd and 4 in OT and thinking 4 down territory they run it on 3rd down to set up 4th and short which Zeke converts 99 out of 100 times. Not having confidence in Pollard (who I think had taken himself out) or Davis to get those tough yards definitely impacted the play calling there IMHO. It also bears stating again that having to play as many snaps as he did seems to have resulted in zero 20+ yard plays by Pollard. I could have sworn that people here had assured me that if he got more carries he's be ripping off 20 yarders every 3rd or 4th carry. I firmly believe that if he continues to have to shoulder the load those splash plays will become fewer and fewer.. and the peanut gallery will fall in love with Malik Davis.. It's what this fan base does..

It’s not just about the splash plays, it’s the fact that TP turned 22 carrie’s into 115 yards. Zekes averaged 5+ ypc twice in his last 16 games.

Holding out with multiple years to go on rookie contract. Huge team guy.

Please don't cosign any of the stupid falsehoods people post.. Zeke held out after year three of his rookie contract. He only had one year left on it and the TEAM had the option for the 5th not him. If you don't understand things it's best not to comment on them. Zeke held out because he and his agent (and every other person with eyes) could see that the Cowboys were about to "Demarco Murray" him.. that is run him into the ground and discard him. If he got hurt or didn't play well in year 4 they could have let him walk or offered him a lowball extension. He thought he deserved better.. I agreed with him..

No one could have anticipated that as soon as Moore took over play calling that the Cowboys were going to quit leaning on Zeke and turn into a pass heavy offense. Because if they had known they were going to do that they absolutely should not have signed him to the extension. They should have called his bluff and either let him sit or released him. That would have been better for all parties. I said that then and have been saying it ever since. If they wanted their money's worth they should have kept handing him the ball 20 times a game and stayed a smash mouth team.

Contracts are part of the business. I don't begrudge a player getting his money when the team is trying to screw him. And teams try to screw guys all the time. Including the Cowboys. That Zeke was able to win that business deal is a credit to him and his agent. You wanna be mad at him about it.. fine.. I'm sure he won't get a wink of sleep worrying about how you feel about his paycheck.

The thing that never gets mentioned in all the "he held out" so I hate him noise is that his extension ended up lowering his cap number for years 4,5 and 6 over what it would have been on the 5th year option. Meaning that his contract HELPED the Cowboys against the cap until this season. His cap number in 2019 was 6.3 million.. in 2020 it was 10.9 million and in 2021 it was 6.8 million. This season is the only one where his cap number is high.. 18.2 million but his salary is only 5.8. The rest is the remainder of the cap charge for the bonus. So despite the mindless drivel being spewed about how his contract has "hamstrung the Cowboys" that is a blatant agenda driven lie. It has done no such thing. After all.. in the only high cap year of the deal.. the Cowboys entered the season with over 20 million in cap space.. But you keep cosigning dude's hate if it makes you feel good. But at least now you know you're finding comfort in a lie.

Given that 12 of those 16 games were played on one leg I'm not sure this statement carries any weight. He's been over 5 ypc in 5 of his last 10 healthy games.. True or false?

This teams run game has been steamrolling without zeke. Despite your laughable claim that we lost because he didn’t play.

face the music, pollard is much better than your broken hero.

what we possibly do without zeke and his team bottom 4 ypc?
Steamrolling, lol.
