It appears Cowboys RB Malik Davis is the favorite to be the No. 2 RB behind Tony Pollard

My point exactly 13 carries 27 yards 2.1 avg.
16 million. Which makes him ‘the guy’ in that situation. If an undrafted RB shows him up the GM looks like an even bigger dumazz than he already is.

Buddy, hate to break it to you, but they put in davis shortly after pollard went down. First play he was pass blocking and whiffed and almost got dak killed. They never put him in again. Go watch the tape.
I didn't realize that.

it all goes back to the FO failure at the position. Personally i think they are doing it again.
I am sure he got on the field he may also play some ST. But they wanted him to block but not slip him out for a dump off. I heard he had a altercation with the staff earlier in the week so they were not to happy with him.

Maybe there is a reason that the RB coach from last year is gone...

I would not bet against Kellen Moore...
His QB is Justin Herbert...
Then Moore better have not brought the same playbook.

That RB coach may have had a problem with Pollard also.

Who knows, maybe the Ronald Jones suspension has something to do with this.

I like Davis, but I have concerns. For one thing, we don't know how well Pollard will hold up over a full season as the lead RB, and Davis leaves us with a backup that hasn't yet proven he can carry a large part of the load if needed. Additionally, both Pollard & Davis seem to be liabilities as pass blockers, and that can kill offensive possessions.

Maybe Vaughn can help out as well, but as with all rookies, he's an unknown until he gets playing time. Plus, at his small size there has to be a limit to his pass protection abilities as well.
