It appears it was more Golston and poor tackling

Anae had plenty of opportunities and didn't have much production at all.

That’s a lie, his snaps were limited when he played and soon as he pressured the QB the coaches would force him to sit for next 20 mins.

For a 3rd round pick, we will be lucky he will be a JAG. You are probably one of those fans that think Armstrong and Lewis are busts because they are rotational players. We need all pros at every position.:omg::confused::rolleyes::rolleyes::facepalm:

NO I would just never brag about a JAG. Low standards.

I got ripped for saying this exact same thing. Randy knows that sacks are what will get him paid and he is playing like it. In all honesty if our offense is clicking and he is getting to the QB all is good. This game was the perfect example of what happens when the offense stinks and we are losing and the opposition decides to cram it down our throats.
randy has never been good at run defense. he’s always been a pass rushing DE. thus why Danny has him in that leo role. he needs a more run stopping DT next to him and a thumper to stop the run behind him. putting odigi next to him is just asking to get the ball ran down your throat.

Who is bragging about him? He is a rookie 3rd round pick that has become a rotation player since we had injuries with Tank and Lawrence. The guy has played solid and meaningful snaps. You can’t ask for more then that.

Inexcusable on many levels

Sometimes when you stress over and over and over and over to go for the ball, guys forget that the first goal is to tackle. I suspect that may be at play a little here.
Also, ****** play and ability may be at play which isn't as easy to correct.

Golston has been messing up since early in the season when Dan Quinn started letting him play on Defense, yet Quinn never let Cox play at LB until 3 or 4 plays that he did against the Giants. The same goes for Wright and Mukuamu.

Clearly, Quinn is making particular player choices, and those decisions are not turning out so well.
I absolutely would have been playing Cox in all nickel situations. But, to your point, DL always rotates. So it's not quite a fair comparison.

Just watched a Voch u-tube video in which he was breaking down what went wrong with our run defense against the Broncos. Many of the big run plays actually were due to lack of outside containment from Golston not within the interior. Perhaps, this was the game in which we sorely missed DLaw. Golston is a rookie and this very correctable and a good teaching moment.

As for lack of tackling, this is something to watch. We heard this same issue with our secondary coach a few weeks ago as well. Poor tackling leads to big plays no matter if it's against the run or the pass. This is the biggest area of weakness and concern.

I just watched. Why is Golston crashing inside and there's not a soul behind him filling on the edge? Did he or someone else miss the call? The rushing lanes on the edge were huuuuge.

Solid is nothing to brag about. Solid is JAG
Solid is very good for a guy who has only played a few NFL games. But last week, he stunk IMO...as of course did almost everyone.

I still don't see a defense that can stop teams that are dedicating to running the ball. The Rams will crush us again if we meet in the playoffs

Look at how many Cowboys are watching the play while the play is still live. I have seen this from Dallas earlier in the year. About 5 or 6 guys are watching the playing hoping someone else will make the tackle.

Golston has been pretty average to mediocre all year. They miss Lawrence. The Broncos ran on a 2nd and 17 deep inside their own territory and gained 14 yards, on that same play running inside the DE. I am certain the caught the Cowboys looking for a pass. The DE are taking themselves out of the plays. It is actually very smart of the Bronco coaches. They took advantage of the Cowboys scheme and poor tackling.

I pointed out the poor tackling by the backups in the pre-season, and asked don't they coach tacking techniques anymore? People bit my head off for it, saying things like - at this level, they know how to tackle, etc. Well, here you go.
