It sucks getting old

Luckily I am still ok with no glasses yet.As for losing hair I still have my long hair since I was a teen.
To me age is an attitude more than just a number.Yes you have once n a while pain here and there but you live with it..... It is part of life. You adjust your life style with your ability.
One big change I have noticed as you get older (( being too cynical )).

Went to get my driver's license renewed today and sat there waiting for 2 hours and then failed the damn eye test. 54 years old and I guess I'll have to get glasses. I didn't even realize I had an issue seeing but I couldn't read those letters to save my life.
It really does suck getting older. The mind getting wiser is great but the body dying off sux.

I believe what the POTUS just signed into law gives veterans the ability to go to a private practice for lasik procedures but the VA itself isn't doing lasik. I'm actually going to look into that because I'm not really sure and it's got my attention now.
Let me know, buddy. :)

I wear contacts, and since I have had them, I swear my eyesight has got worse. Drives me nuts. Speaking of getting older, I am obsessed with the direction of time. Maybe someday you will get a Slammed0 deep post about time. ;)

Looking forward to it!

Yeah it is.

The problem is that many help in the process.

As we get older our intake of empty carbohydrates like beer and soda (pop for us in the NE) rises and our intake of protein decreases.

We lose muscle mass and gain fat.

In addition we stop doing activities that are hard(er) which decreases our muscle mass even more.

I live in a two story house and have to navigate stairs several times a day. I've had several folks remark, "Well I wouldn't like that... having to climb stairs."

Well you know what happens to those muscles when you don't use them...

My parents lived in a two-story home, but their bedroom was on the first floor as was the laundry. They had no stairs to deal with.

As they got older they added a room to the first floor which became the new living room, which was well & good.

But the new room was a couple feet lower than the rest of the house which made stairs necessary. Those stairs became a nightmare because their "stair-muscles" hadn't been used in so long.

I try to stay active but when I have a physical setback like low back or torn calf etc it takes few weeks to get going again. I was doing well few weeks ago then low back went out. I do stairs daily but not as many as I should.

It is not just our bodies this universe itself made not to last it is always changing. When you born you got 2 good friends to help you on your journey one is health second is time but after a while ( if you live long enough) your 2 best allies ( health and time)turn to enemies. wisdom will compensate the lost of the 2 .
