No honest with you what-so-ever. I asked you if you like the fire starters and you said no. But not only was that not true, you are one. Burn it down fire starter until everyone is so busy putting out fires all around them, they don't have time to deal with you, the one starting them all. I'm on to you so you employ another trick, you make the claim that your fires are a good thing, an opportunity. Fires do indeed recycle nutrients to the soil. But your fires are only destructive. Those 20 players that will be involved with FA in 2018, have another season to play first. This is an important detail that you would have us ignore and yet it can change how we view all of these individuals. Some will be injured, some will prove to be worthy of keeping and others will remain expendable. It's why we should let this season play out before worrying about 2018's FA. It's way too early to be worrying about those 20 players fate to FA in 2018. Put this fire out and focus on something more pressing to the team right now like who's making the team, how are they going to be utilize, who is maturing into the player we need them to be and who is letting the team down... like Dez missing games or under performing. These issues are immediate issues that effect the team right now. Why start fires that have no bearing on what goes on right now? 2018 FA is such a fire, so leave it alone for now and we'll circle back to it later.

I said "no" because I did not view it as a fire-starter to begin with...and I still don't view it that way. Regardless of when they become a Free Agent, we fans will not have a say in what becomes of them, so why does it matter when we discuss it? You accuse me of being a self-appointed purveyor, yet you attempt to dictate, on an open forum no less, when we can discuss matters of interest. As I stated in my initial response, if this discussion doesn't interest you, don't contribute to it. It is really that simple.

I am not attempting to tell anyone what they can and can't do; you are. I am merely pointing out how ridiculous it is for you to do so in the first place. If that makes me self-righteous, so be it. Considering the source, however, makes it almost seem to be a compliment.

LOL oh yeah, you're a martyr. Enjoy the thread. I'm going to extract myself from this one and unburden you of my presence in it. Maybe you can be more civil the next thread we cross paths. Yeah, right. LOL

At no point did I indicate that I am a martyr, nor did I imply it. The simple truth is you are losing the debate and now are attempting to extract yourself from this loss with your ego still intact.

About two responses ago I was reminded of Monty Python and The Holy Grail.

You should seriously consider putting this image in your signature area. It's quite befitting.

In parting, I will grant you this last bit of wisdom I have gained through 12+ years of marriage:

I see: Collins, David Irving, Lawrence and Hitchens. Rico too if he shows us something this year. That's 5, who am I missing?
Here's my list of seven I would like to keep....

C. Jones - can tackle and pull off fake punts
Ladoceur - long snapper
L. Collins
D. Irving
K. Smith
E. Cleary
R. Gathers

Sleeper- J. Cooper

Only ones I care about retaining.

La'el Collins
David Irving
Rico
and maybe Jonathan Cooper

Hope we add some talent this year in free agency and make a strong push for contending the last 2 years of Dak's incredibly affordable contract. Although it does not appear to a strong year for free agents. Some players (mid-20's) that I could be interested in are:

Sammy Watkins, WR, Buffalo
Aaron Lynch, DE, 49ers
Alec Ogletree, LB, Rams
Kyle Fuller, CB, Bears
Kenny Vacarro, S, Saints
Eric Reid, S, 49ers

Now why did you have to go and do that? I was perfectly content to let bygones be bygones and go on my own way. But you couldn't just leave well enough alone. You had to get one more shot in as I depart. This is why your advice to me to not contribute to this thread if I don't like it is so impossible. I try to be the bigger man and just leave but then you do this. I even asked you to be civil in the future but you spit in my face with this Monty Python troll posting. Your taunting of me really serves no purpose but your personal entertainment. Does it make you feel good to bully someone you don't even know? My opinion of you has certainly changed. Turns out, you're not so nice. The debate was never lost by me because I never considered the topic worth debating, but if you wished to waste your time at it then I'm trying to allow that courtesy. No need for you to taunt me, chastise, insult, or any of that nonsense.

I will concede I have judged you too harshly, if you concede you have no idea what the emoticon  means. If you have already forgotten, it was this post where you used it:

Can we play a freaking season before we concern ourselves with that BS. Some folks can never have enough fires burning around the Cowboys.

 = disrespectfully rolling your eyes at the op.

You see, when you disrespect others, you open yourself up to disrespect. You may recall a cliche from our childhood: If you can't take it, don't dish it.

But again, if you didn't realize that is what you were doing in the first place, I retract any disrespect you feel I have shown you thus far.

My use of an emoji is what has you all riled up? That's just pathetically petty. You'll get no more concessions from me. You push and push until you've gone too far. Not knowing when to leave well enough alone is your weakness.

It's not the emoji alone.

It is merely an example of the disrespect you have shown me and other zoners. To tell me that my perspective on the Cowboys draft is an "epic fail" is also disrespectful. To liken me to Jerry Jones in the context that you used it is disrespectful. To refuse to concede that you were wrong in your attempt to dictate what people can and can't discuss was disrespectful to everyone here; the op especially.

But, I will grant you this: when you said my taunting you now was for my own personal entertainment, you could not have been more right! This was the most fun I have had in awhile...so for your part in that, thank you!

Good day to you sir...:)

Disrespect? I don't agree with your use of the word "exuberant". I'm entitled to my opinion. Just because it differs from yours doesn't make it disrespectful. I said you sound like Jerry Jones and you perceive disrespect. I speak my mind... one man's opinion but you perceive it as dictating and disrespectful. Me? With no power? I'm dictating? No, you perceive disrespect where none was intended. You are a little man lashing out at your perceptions. And now you admit you are taking pleasure in all this lashing out at me that you've done. Even after I asked for civility you taunt. You have so much to learn. You are going to come across folks in this world with whom you disagree. It's doesn't make them disrespectful or worthy of your taunting. You hand out advice like it is candy but you don't follow it yourself. You told me if I didn't like this thread then I should just leave it without contribution, yet when you see a post of mine you don't like, do you leave it without reply? No, you conjure up disrespect and make it your personal vendetta to get back at me. You say you want to say what you want when you want to say it but you would deny me that same courtesy. I can't dictate anything to you, little man. Stop perceiving disrespect where there is none. Grow thicker skin and learn when it is best to leave well enough alone. The way you belittle me, a stranger, I feel so sorry for your wife. Only god knows the psychological damage you've done to her.

I SAID GOOD DAY!!!

But since you decided to get all personal (e.g. bring my wife into it) the taunts shall continue. Remember...you asked for this:

Disagree with me all you like. People disagreeing here is what makes this place awesome. It is the way you went about disagreeing with me that invited my "taunts" into your life.

For instance, rather than saying "epic fail on you" you could have simply (and respectfully) said, "I disagree with your use of the word exuberant" and then proceed to explain why. Granted, you would have been wrong in your assessment, but in my correcting you I would have been much more gentle.

The context in which you compared me to Jerry Jones was very much intended as an insult. I don't expect you to own up to it, especially when you are so invested in playing the victim now that this conversation didn't turn out as you had hoped.

I am not trying to stop you from posting anything. Post all you like...but tread carefully...if you don't like being disrespected, you should remain respectful. I kinda see how you'll respond to that, so allow me just to point out now, I can take what I dish out....judging by the tears crawling down your last few responses, I'll assume you cannot.

Have you ever watched the show "Bully Beatdown?" It's a show hosted by Jason "Mayhem" Miller where bullies are bullied by MMA fighters.

Essentially, that's what happened here. Normally, you are free to make your snarky comments followed by your favorite emoji  without retribution. As you may already well know, that's what fuels a bully - lack of anyone available to return the favor in kind. And that is what happened today. You engaged in today's debate with the intellectual equivalent of a knife. I, in turn, brought the intellectual equivalent of a M16A2 with an M203 mounted on the bottom. You are probably familiar with M16, but for reference, the M203 is a grenade launcher, famously used at the ending of Scarface. You may recall the line "Say hello to my little friend."

So, "Say hello to my little friend!"

You think to highly of your own ignorant little self. I'm a 20 year military veteran. I've participated in combat in Afghanistan on three separate occasions and have had used that very same M203 as cover fire during an engagement with enemy forces. I'm sorry your only experience with the M203 is limited to Scareface, little man, it's actually quite a thrill to fire.

As for your problem with perception... Another's difference in perspective is weightless and therefore an illogical nothing to be burdened by.

You assume too much sir.

I was in the army infantry (11b) and am an expert on the M16A2, M203, and the 9MM. As such, I'm familiar with the thrill. Fortunately, I got out of the Army right before 9/11.

I still am not burdened by your perspective. I think you forget that this engagement has been fun for me, kinda like CQB w/paint balls like Special Forces uses. I'm sorry it wasn't for you...especially now that I know you are a brother in arms. A very, very distant brother, but a brother just the same.

Thank you for your service.

Thank you for your service. Army infantry? I worked with your kind quite a bit. I was Air Force TACP, and mostly called Army Infantry Divisions home when not deployed. Deployed I was with the 75th Ranger Regiment assigned to quick response force duty.

Anyway, I don't see how you can say it was fortune you got out of the Army right before 9/11 unless you are saying you made room for braver men not afraid of the fight.

That's pretty cowardly of you to call him a coward. Nuff said.

LMAO. Well played, sir, well played.

But, yes, now that I'm married and have two sons, I am very thankful to be here, alive, well, and able to enjoy the experience. If that in your opinion is cowardice, so be it. If it somehow erases in your mind how unbelievably disrespectful and wrong you have been up to this point, given your service, I think you deserve to think that.

Clint Eastwood said, "A man has to know his limitations". If you are a man that knows his limitations then who am I to judge. Much respect to your wife and sons.
