Ok, I'm 99 percent sure Garrett stays, so how long of a contract should we offer him? and how much a year? I think Callahan leaves, Linehan and Marinelli stay just for the record.

I would say 4 years 24 million.

I dont think 5 million a year gets it done, isnt he making 4.1 a year now?

I think Jerry is hoping to sign all three and have one PC to announce the signing of all three. Garrett was probably signed at 8:05 this morning.

I think 5 years 30m+

Marinelli and Linehan sign 3 year deals

That's what I was thinking for Garrett. It'll be interesting to see what they do with the assistants. I guess a lot depends on whether or not Linehan wants another HC gig in a year or so.

Thats good news. The coaching carousel has finally ended. I think Garrett is going to be a good coach so long he doesn't call the plays. I can't even believe I just said that. Cowboys just need stability. They need a philosophy to adhere by. With Garrett they get that. Plus he can work with Jerry - which not a lot of coaches are able. Garrett is also a player's coach. They love him and gravitate around what he says. Not like Jimmy who wills the fear of God within his players. Garrett is a fit for Dallas and Dallas is a fit for him. Great news on an otherwise terrible weekend.

25 mil for 5 yrs. Rex Ryan signed it with Buffalo and I think he has more playoff wins then Garrett. I hope he stays. I like her hI'm as a coach and want consistency.

this is passing up on a good opportunity. Yes we are going to resign Garrett. mainly no one is going to admit to a bad mistake. Is he the worst HC ever, no, can we do better, yes. Is it worth it to go out of the organization, find the young guy, young coordinators, and get the stability. i cant believe one good season trumps 3 bad, Im sorry in any other deal no one takes it, if their money is on the line. For most fans, they can accept the mediocrity because its not their money. For some of us, this is a great opp to look at the organization, gut what isnt working, find the new philosophy and get some people off this team. The big reason im really not into Garrett even more so, im afraid to many are going to be able to stick around. To bad, because some guys we just dont need or we can move on from.

I do hope Callahan is resigned. Anyone has a problem wiht that line, well your eyes done did you wrong. I ve been very happy since the day Callahan was signed. Rod did great, wont take it from him, but if he wants to leave, good luck to him. Just dont promote from inside, go outside. 3-4, 4-3 I to me makes no difference anymore, its just one big blah, you got 11 guys wiht the same focus, get to the ball, drop whoever has it. I really want a basic guys, someone who will fundamentally get the basics trained into these guys. Stop majority of the penalities, play your zone/assignment and do the job correctly.

For me tho, the coaches are second to the msot important aspect, WE need anotehr good offseason. And this draft has got to either find us the next qb, and load up on defense, or load up on defense and find out if Vaughn is that guy. If hes not, we need to get a qb now before most of us experience post Aikman part 2.

I really dont expect the GIants to lay over again. Whatever they do, they wont be easy to beat next season and if they are smart, its time for a retool on the coaches side as well. Not that i dont respect Coughlin, but time for them to bring in the new guard as well. I hope they dont but i cant see them passing up that opp as well. The Commanders are going to be a mess for at least anther season and Eagles could have a problem on their hands. Another reason you dont rely on college coaches, but luckily, (dallas included) some teams are slwo to learn and some just dont.

of course however Dallas goes, so goes the backing. One good season has been enough for most of everyone hear to pump their chests and say "see, he finally did it" tho i suspect the same would be said after 5 8-8 seasons, luckily some teams just rolled over this year. Some teams were just thrilled being average at best. That is not our headache tho.

The good news about this offseason shows which way Dallas really wants to go, but it will have have a thin line to walk. We all some some locks at FA turn out to be not so good even tho the threads of "this guy is great" were fast to come out. And lets all be honest, you need the season to play out before we really know.
