I was really hoping this season was different. It's not. We had a chance to beat a good team without Tony and show that we've learned other ways to win. Our running game is very good but the reason it was able to have so many carries and yards is because Tony converted 3rd downs and made teams pay by extending plays with his mobility and ability to find the open man. No doubt in my mind we win yesterday with Tony in there. Defense gave us a quick 7-0 lead and the run game really wasn't bad it just needed balance.

So Tony get well QUICK please we need you if we're going to have any shot at postseason.

If there is zero chance of being torched via the pass, no team can run effectively. I don't care who you are.

Even the 90's Cowboys had Irvin, Harper, Novacek that would hurt you if you put 8 in the box.

Yep. This entire team still runs on Romo. Murray is having a great season but much of that is predicated on the opponent fearing the pass.

It's a passing league.

It actually makes me wonder if the Cowboys have a built an offensive philosophy (run heavy offense) more suited for the 1990s than today.

The rules are SO TILTED towards passing it's ridiculous.

This is how bad it is:
  • 7 quarterbacks have a QB rating of 100+
  • 19 quarterbacks have a QB rating of 90+
  • 28 quarterbacks have a QB rating of 80+
It wasn't long ago that 80+ QB ratings was considered the rubicon for average QB play. Now the entire league is above 80 and a pure 90 QB rating is just average.

Well, it is different this year. We need Tony, and there was no reason to expect that we wouldn't need one of the top QBs in the league. But the defense and running game have shown that they can complement that QB, which is something we haven't had the past few years and helped us get to 6-1.

Romo needs a competent running game and Murray needs a competent QB if this team is going to win. Prior to yesterday they actually had been able to pick up tough yardage running against 8 man fronts but AZ's run defense is a different beast. The difference between this year and last wasn't exclusively their ability to run against soft fronts.

I do think there is a difference in believing it is all on Tony (being Superman) Vs in believing it is all on Tony (giving us effective QB play).

What is a shame is the QB play just had to be average yesterday and we would have had a chance, unfortunately we got horrible QB play (focusing on primary receivers, bad checks at the line, throwing errant passes and throwing Int's)

This team just needs efficient QB play, which is what makes yesterday so very disappointing.

I don't think it is all on Toney. I think Tony is an important piece and he should be. He is our starting QB. Having said that, the season is long and you gotta deal with this kind of stuff. Every fan knew that we were not a deep team. We all knew that at some point, injuries would play a key role in our season. It's the NFL. Injuries are a big part of the game. That's just how it is.

If we had a dependable backup we could have had a chance to win that game. But we didn't. Tony is needed on this team regardless because Weeden is so bad that he will lose games because of him.

Haters, schmaters…yadda, yadda, yadda

Guys don't have to be avid fans of his without "hating" Romo.

As I've said before. He's clearly the best QB we've had since Troy.

At this time, he makes the team much better.

Without him, we have no chance.

He's been good to great for many years, but he's had his fingerprints on some very disappointing losses and seasons.

Given his contract, he'll be here for a few more years, but as yesterday showed, it's time to look for his replacement, no doubt.

It's not all on Tony, Tony just happens to be far and away the best QB on the team so having him back and healthy is an integral part of the team. All he needs to do is be Seattle Tony and the rest of the team can help win a bunch more ball games.

it's not all on tony, its a team effort... he plays a position where we don't have any other options... but we won 6 in a row because of how the TEAM played...when the TEAM plays well, the game gets easier for the star players......

Being a fan of a player does not outweigh being a fan of a team.......and that does not outweigh being a fan of the sport itself......
may the force be with you.....
