Longtime fans like myself are losing interest, and even those in football who were once associated with the great Cowboys teams of the past are slowly disappearing.
Fans who were old enough to enjoy the success of the early nineties are also getting older.
But the fanbase of children who have never known how good this Cowboys franchise once was is Jerry's legacy. And it will not be as strong as the fans that made this "America's Team".
Most of us older fans are fed up. We KNOW how bad it has gotten because we witnessed the teams that made this franchise great.
Jerry's circus hype is not selling anymore. His arrogance in kicking the fans in the teeth as he insisted on shoving incompetence in players and coaches down the throats of the very fans that made this franchise the most loved franchise in sports is finally catching up with him.
That $260 million abomination of a contract he slipped to his latest pet player and that he tried to pass off with the hoopla from last years opening day is the poison pill that finished off most long-time fans.
I don't think these Cowboys will enjoy the fan support this season that they have in the past.
The charade is almost over.

The salary cap rises from year to year. Its because the NFL attracts more people and so generates more revenue.

The franchises value rises from year to year.

That old fans finally get it that this games is not ment to be authentic but more about showbusiness, entertainment and making money is nothing new. The same words were uttered in the 80s and 90s. New and younger Fans are not dumber nor do they settle for less. They are just enyoing the experience as everybody does whos heart is into something new.

Be happy that you are able to reflect about your own needs and feelings. Let it go and search for something else that gives you inner fullfilment. Everything else is not in your power anyways.

Nothing fixes complacency like winning. Record attendance is something the Cowboys are known for so that suggests the interest in the Cowboys is still there. You can't dispute the attendance records...

Its interesting. Normally the hype train is in full effect by now. Dallas has tried to get it going and the fanbase has collectively said "nope, not this time."

If Dallas gets a few early wins that may change but if they start out of the gate poorly, I suspect the Cowboys are going to see record levels of fan disinterest.

I think fans like you give yourselves too much credit. There’s a portion of this fanbase that doesn’t think like you(hard to process I know…)…..

You underestimate how many fans of this team are under 40….who all they know is heartbreak and misery.

The hype is still working with a few of the usual suspects, but those numbers are becoming fewer as each year passes.

You have to be careful though. You can’t go by this forum in order to gauge the interest in the Cowboys. Look at the ticket sales and merchandise sales. Look at the Netflix specials….its not the positivity that matters to Jerry it’s the numbers. The engagement.

What can we be offended about today?!
Yep the objective is to paint the narrative that they matter. Their voice matters. But it doesn’t. Millions of these fans around the globe….. and the Cowboys are making more than over. And engagement is more than ever.

30 years of epic failures, excuses, and denial are coming to an end.
Even Jerry realizes Jimmy was "the walrus" and there's nothing he and all his money can do about it.
If he realized that he would’ve stepped aside and hired a GM. But when you’re worth 14 billion he has no incentive to change.

So you're more pleased that the fan club is growing in numbers while the product on the field is ignored? The product on the field and the people who represented that product (Staubach, etc) is why we all became fans, am I wrong?

Seems like priorities need to be rearranged.

Totally agree. For the past thirty years Jethro and whatever controlable dog poop coach he hired promised a great team in the making. For thirty years we won the SB in July and then played like dog meat in December. No amount of Jethro evangelizing is going to be accepted because we all now know better.
Sign, Micah, get out of the way and let the coach coach. If he doesn’t win, find another, but keep your big nose out of the running of the team. Hire a GM. A real football person. Not some bloviated, oft times drunk, carnival barker like you. Oh, tell junior to find a real job. He is worse than you are.

I’m not pleased by anything. It’s just my observation. If I had my way we would get a small market team with a GM snd and an owner that just write checks….but that’s not reality. Reality is no matter how disgruntled we are with Jerry….we keep coming back. A drug addict knows drugs are bad for them. Why do they come back? Why do they say they are gonna leave it alone but don’t? We are the drug addicts. Our drug of choice is the Cowboys.

This is all just lip service. If someone was really don’t with the Cowboys they wouldn’t come on this site or talk Cowboys….

So when will you stop posting?
You have zero interest in the Cowboys. You have one agenda here. And we all know what that is.

Fans have not lost interest, nor the media, nor TV wanting to show them nationally.
Fans are frustrated, yes. But they have not lost interest. Why else would that same fans on here, post the same frustrations over and over and over. Just like some will post what they see as good things, over and over and over.

If fans lost interest. No one would be talking about them. No matter how bad fans perceive their team to be. Merchandise sales will still happen. WHY? Because the are fans. And there will always be fans, there will always be new fans.
Even all the 1-15 teams, 2-14 teams, year after year retain their frustrated fans.

Live with it.

Knock knock.
Who's there?
It's long past.
It's long past who?
It's long past you finally wake up and smell the coffee.

Longtime fans like myself have already been losing interest, and even those in football who were once associated with the great Cowboys teams of the past had already been slowly disappearing.
Fans who were old enough to enjoy the success of the early nineties had already been getting older.

Interesting view...... except for the fact that this 'addiction' won't cause you you murder or steal, won't get you locked up in prison, and won't cause you to end up dead with a needle stuck in your arm while your fellow addicts rummage through your pockets trying to find the remaining stash you might have left over.

But yes, I get the meaning.
