Now, that's just a youth's point-of-view.
The Dallas Cowboys franchise is (and always has been) one of the popular viewership draws in the league. Do you honestly believe that the NFL wanted us to go one and out? Please. You're young, but you'll eventually learn.
And the media? Get real. Here's a fact of life. The media is :money: driven. It doesn't hate the Cowboys. It loves the Cowboys. When it talks about the Cowboys, it attracts viewers. More viewers validate how much MORE the media can charge its advertising clients. When Dallas loses, it's going to talk about the Cowboys more. Why? Because the media doesn't want its advertisers to balk against the advertising rates which the media is charging them after Dallas is out of the football picture, that's why.
Sure, there is a media bias against Dallas, but don't get it confused. It's a bias which the media displays at a more personal level and usually rears its ugly head outside the regular/postseason during Hall of Fame time, etc.
Don't let the 'ESPN personalities' fool you. What most of them say in front of the camera about Dallas is probably different from what they say off-camera. In many ways, we ARE the league. From the fans' perspective, Dallas' history represents the best aspects of the league and the jealousy of that past success is what has showcased us in a totally opposite light. This franchise is interwoven into the minds of pro football fans throughout the world. You don't get it, but we are the Dallas Cowboys. Learn it. Live it. Love it.
Or don't.
Here's a simpler way to look at it. The Indianapolis Colts were the defending Super Bowl champions. The Dallas Cowboys haven't won a Super Bowl in over a decade. After exiting the playoffs a week ago, WHICH TEAM HAS THE MEDIA TALKED ABOUT THE MOST AND WILL CONTINUE TALKING ABOUT MORE PAST THE SUPER BOWL ITSELF??? Also, WHICH TEAM HAVE NON-COWBOYS FANS PITIED AND WHICH TEAM HAS IT CELEBRATED AFTER THE ONE-AND-GONE LOSSES?
Good luck with those answers. :wink2:
