to be add a little humor because all and all the direction this team is headed this season every body with common sense knows it don't especially look like a sunshine day. But taking a song from Annie just remember the sunshine will come out tomorrow you can bet your bottom dollar. And remember watch it on TV that will be a lot less expensive and you can cuss with out someone telling you to tone it down and the beer is cheaper and you won't have to worry about your favorite texas trooper telling you to have a nice day after ticket or jail

…… No he won’t . He’s smart enough to know this team is in the NFC East
Right , but if we start like 3-0 or 6-2 there will be the usual casual fans and homers who hop on thinking we’re headed to a SB again.

I don't want to say my interest has waned, but you get to a point in life where there are just higher priorities. Win or lose it doesn't change anything for me personally so why stay upset over a game designed to bring entertainment?

Sure Cowboys news is still in the top 5 of things I read about everyday and I root for them on Sunday, but none of us control any of the outcomes so my vested interest only goes so far.

The money rolling in probably gives him some sense of success.
But on the field has been mediocre for 27 years.
How do you justify that?
There is no justification, at least there is none for somebody that places winning over their own ego. Jerry wants to win, but only if winning comes his way and he gets all the credit. Years ago, Jerry didn’t mind spending money on players that could help the team win. Now, Stephen has put a stop to that one sliver of hope.

Ouch…

Completely true too. Our division sucks so we should easily have a repeat of last season.

That's assuming the other teams don't improve at all. Is there an indication of that? Philly for example is stacked for draft picks and has 2 first round ones. And the Cowboys lost talent. It really hinges on the draft.

Before you go saying adios, seeya wouldn't want to beya or something else along those lines, hear me out.

I have been wondering if my loss of passion for the Cowboys is just the aging process or is there something else causing that and I think I am on to it. I do not have that proprietary attachment to the Cowboys I once had.

When I became a fan, they were my team. Really MY team, I felt more than just a fan, they were mine. I had a special relationship with them and almost felt I knew them.

No owner sends the message louder or clearer that this is his team than this one. He even went so far to tell the fans if you don't like it, plop down 140M of your own money. And since then, it's only gotten worse.

Not only do he and his son spend their time telling us that this is their team but they insult my fantelligence by trying to sell their way is the way. No other owner in sports history has spent more time trying to sell lemonade and eventually it becomes an insult. Do they really think I am that stupid? Just because I am a fan?

The bragging and boastfulness of the Joneses negates any "this is my team" thinking. It's all about them.

Tex Schramm was a master marketer and he had this knack for making the Cowboy accomplishments inclusive for the fans. I can still recall the pc when he established the largest radio network in NFL history and was responsible for establishing the Dallas Cowboys as Mexico's team, as well as New Mexico and Arizona. He made it about us, the fans. He said we were the reason that happened. It was look what we did.

This detached feeling I have when I watch this team play has become the norm so it doesn't bother me as much but when I watch them play, I know I am watching someone else's team play, not mine.

I realize there is no logic or rationale attached to being a fan but that's what has happened to me, I am now a fan because I've been a fan for so long. If not for the history, I would not choose this team today.

The problem is that I do not think I will ever get that feeling back again. That this is MY team feeling. And that makes me sad because one should never outgrow their passion.

This is not a complaint thread or a bash the owner one as I do not think he did this intentionally, it just happened because he let his ego take over. And a lot of what he's been doing is trying to chase the Jimmy Johnson ghost away but along the way he took my pride of ownership of my team away from me.

it is still my favorite NFL team but it is not MY team.
It was never your team. Cowboys just use to do a better job of making you think it was your team. But it never was.

I was born in the mid-70's.
I cannot identify with today's youth and it makes me sad.
For both myself and them.

I look at my nephew-in-law and watch him playing some video game like it was his life and I'm just...
What?
I would get on my bike at 7 in the morning and go to some creek to fish with a bud and we both knew there were no fish there.
It was just cool to do and then we would bicycle around downtown and get into various situations until the sun went down.

Makes me feel old.

And I'm not old!
Quit denying it. You are old. Not as old as me, but you are old and it only gets worse.

….ignorance is bliss. I won’t remind them of strength of opponent….why ruin their day?
