It's really time for both Dak sides to stop and move on

I'll stop complaining about Dak when he starts playing well against elite teams. He'll have some opportunities before the playoffs. Baltimore and SF would be a great start. I always said though that Jerry was the real reason this team continues to underperform. Last week was a great start to the season. We won an away game which was great but we blew many teams out last year. Time will tell.
This will never happen because any game we win will automatically reclassify the other team as "not good. " If we beat the Ravens in a couple of weeks it'll just be more "Yeah buts.." Seen this movie too many times man.

Estimated. Or you could just do the simple math yourself.

In order for Dak to be 10% of the cap next year, the cap would have to be just under 900 million.
For Dak to be 20%, the cap would have to be just under 450 million. The cap isn't jumping 200M from where it is now. So 33% is probably accurate.
And the Cowboys won’t restructure his deal?

I think Dak is a top eight QB but I was kinda wishing the Cowboys moved on--solely because of the vast size of the looming extension.

Prescott is our QB now for a few seasons to come, at least. I'm 100% supportive of him and agree that the tiresome vendettas of some really need to get put to bed.

Go Dak. Go Cowboys. (They go together now, inseperable)

We have to.

Lance isn’t ready…yet.

I was a huge Dak fan.

but he’s Danny White. Except Danny actually won playoff games.

Dak just fleeced Jerry into giving him the highest contract in NFL history. There's no way Dak will ever entertain a restructure if it potentially reduces what he is paid. The uber greedy people like Dak don't do that.

None of this is true, but you're free to believe whatever you want. Dallas gets both Balt and SF over the next 6 weeks. Should they somehow beat 1 of those teams you might see opinions begin to change. The problem is that most of us, and some stans included, don't think Dallas has a chance in hell of beating either one.

Restructures do not less what a player is paid. It converts salary to bonus of which the player gets the money before the season and is prorated over several years usually 5. So yes, Dak will restructure because it ultimately gives him more money up front. As to the cap cost next year, the Cowboys added 2 bonus years to the contract in which next year's bonus money will be turned into a split of it for 5 years, typical in large contracts. Will they ask Dak to restructure also? Depends on what the Cap goes up to and how much they are going to pay Parsons, and before anyone goes off on that, Parsons will be extended sometime after this season or during next season.

By the way, the cap is heard to be going to around to close to if not over $300 million due to the start introduction of gambling money and also the inclusion of teams having companies/individuals invest in the team. Even the sports analysts are prediction that the cap is going to explode in the next year or two.

Regardless whether we believed we should keep Dak or not some fans simply had better instincts into what Jethro would do.

it’s amazing how quiet this forum has become after the signing. So many fans had it all wrong. They truly thought this was his last season or he was playing for another contract.

They might, but do they have to? They might not need to. They'll be significantly under the cap in 2025. Jerry might be getting the big cap hit out of the way while he can, and before any big cap hits come up from star players. I thought he would do that this year. But as it turns out, it looks like he's doing it next year. It's actually a smart move.

I mean it depends. My point was is they could. Now would they? I think it’s smarter to take the big hit now while you really don’t have to worry about paying anyone except Micah who will come in a season or two.

Yeah I’ve noticed that. Had we lost it would’ve been a lot more active from them.

But I’ve always suspected a lot of those guys aren’t really Cowboy fans. They root for chaos and they spent all summer long causing chaos amongst fans. Sure there are some fans who don’t like him. But then there those guys who just wanted to cause chaos and we know who they are. Every season they only lost when we lose.

They have to pay Parsons next offseason. But you're right. They don't have to push any of that money forward. Because we know they don't do FA in any meaningful way. But still, Dak at a 30% cap hit, history is not kind.

They don’t have to pay him isn’t his desk through 2025?

Et tu?

Then why pay attention to them? I mean, both sides of the Dakspew are about as lame you can get, reiterating the same nonsense ad nauseum.

If it wasn't for Lamb and Dak this year, they should be paying Parsons this year. The longer you wait to pay a player, the worse it is on the cap hit. Parsons is probably going to be paid a ridiculous amount of money. You want at least one year left, his 5th year option, to counteract his huge contract.

If they wait an extra year his cap hits will be stupid high. You always pay players you know you're going to keep after their 3rd year. That's what keeps the cap hits at their best. This is why we got into a problem with Dak. Because they waited until his contract was over before giving him that 2nd contract.
