Ok. Let me rephrase for those of you that are more emotional than I am right now.. We are not at a point of completely deconstructing this team. We have a wealth of talent but lack the heart that it takes to come up big in big games. We need better leadership both on and off the field. No doubt.

That said, do you completely decosntruct this team or do you add the pieces that we're missing (both in the lineup and at the coaching level)?

3 Different Coaching Regimes. Same Core.

At what point is enough? At what point are you all tired of 9-7, 6-10, 8-8, getting blasted in nationally televised games? You all the buy the tickets, buy the apparel, go to your schools and places of work, and defend these clowns year in and year out. Enough, it's time to blow this core to the moon. Romo stays, but Austin, Ware, everyone on the defense not named Lee or Jenkins should be made available.

1. Completely dismantle everything and start over.

2. Strengthen the areas of obvious weakness and come back ready to ball next year (for example the secondary needs major work).

With option #1, we are officially "rebuilding".

With option #2, we are doing what every team does every opffseason and placing ourselves in a position to compete even stronger next year.

Which option do you choose? I'm choosing #2 given what I saw this year. Option #1 would be blatant overreaction imho.

Trust me, I am not emotional about this, new it was coming for the past two weeks. We are not on the cusp. If we continue to avoid rebuilding and just continue to try and patch something together we will continue to range from 6-10 to 9-7 with the very rare 10-6 thrown in.

I can't believe how terrible our defenders are with just stuff as simple as tackling and how to play a ball in the air.

There is nothing professional about our secondary. It's as amateur as it gets.

All roads lead to Jerry. We really should all face the fact that Jerry is not ever going to hire a GM. If that means we're going to dwell in mediocrity until he decides to relent his power at VR, then so be it.. But Jerry will continue to be Jerry until Jerry decides to be something else. I faced that fact long ago.

We all know which option JJ will choose - Option 2.

I just think that between our interior OL and Secondary it's too many holes to fill in one off-season - esp if you take into account the decisions that need to be made regarding Robinson, Spencer, etc., etc.

It's not the players I want to dismantle. Not the head coach either, btw.

I don't think any gm would come in here and start shipping out all the better players. Blockbuster trades rarely happen in the NFL and teams know better than to trade a lot of picks for vets anyway.

There's a quote from Jerry from several years back that has stuck with me, as in my mind it epitomizes why we are where we are today.

Upon seeing Parcells retire, he rejoiced at how more "comfortable" the environment was with him gone. How he disliked how Parcells would make things uncomfortable to keep everyone on their toes.

This, more than anything, explains the Cowboys culture. We're soft, and it continually shows through year after year.

Like I stated originally, pink slips would be getting passed along on the plane ride home. Don't mistake my optimistic perspective for lack of clarity. There are a number of player that should be catching buses home. Hmm..
