To this day I lobby for Raquel Welch, the poster girl from Shawkshank, to be in the ring and I will continue to do so until it comes into fruition.

When Raquel Welch and members of Charlie's Angels start coming up that gives you a pretty good idea how much we've beaten these ROH threads to death.

Don't sell Jerry short, he sold life insurance to make it in College while an offensive and undersized lineman on a National team at Arkansas...and then rode out the real dangers in the world of a wildcatter in the star war days of oil exploration in Texas. He's not a new arrival or a jerk...a blowover meant the loss of an entire crew, not to mention the real investment capital of that rig.

I walked into the Groovy with my High School best friend, Ralph...and his brother came over and said, 'We're the Ferguson Brothers. If anyone gives you some trouble...look over here.'

What's gonna be real interesting is how Jerry justifies getting Romo in the ROH with only two playoff wins.

There's nothing interesting about it, really. If Jerry wants to put him in, he'll be in there. There isn't any standard, despite what people want to believe.

There's no assurances Romo will be in the ROH but Jerry could easily justify putting him in based on Romo owning most of the Cowboys passing records. Those who'll argue with Jerry that Romo only has 2 playoff wins and no championships all he has to do is point to Don Meredith who only had one playoff win and no championships. He'll have some ammo to work with but they'll be plenty who'll argue Romo shouldn't be in the ROH if 2 playoff wins is all he ends up with.

I am pretty sure I've posted about this before, but I am sick of seeing "The Beautiful Harvey Martin" keep being dissed, and being excluded from the Cowboys Ring of Honor. I will keep re-posting on thisuntil it is done. One of the greatest defensive ends of all time, here are some of his accomplishments:

Career highlights and awards
How can the NFL Hall of Fame take him serious, when you don't Jerry? Harvey Martin is an all time great that is long over due his respect. It's time to put Martin up on that Ring and quit with whatever games are being played. You have Haley up there. I love and respect Haley, but Martin was every bit as good, and even better. The fact Martin's name never comes up pisses me and other fans off who remember the Landry days. Harvey was a beast. Give him his due.

I mean I'm as big of a Zach Martin fan as anyone, but he hasn't even played 3 seasons yet. This is really premature don't you think?

Danny White got Dallas to 3 NFC Championship game and he hasn't sniffed the ROH. So it will be interesting to see what Jerry does.

Unfortunately Danny was 0-3 in championship games and wasn't one of Jerry's players. Romo still has a chance to make the decision easier for Jerry if he could get a ring but sadly I think that ship has already sailed.

The one thing that Romo has that might get him in is that he was the face of the Dallas Cowboys for almost a decade, for good or bad. Unless he gets a ring or has a couple of nice playoff runs, he shouldn't be in IMO, but again I'm not Jerry Jones.

Unless Romo wins a championship he shouldn't be in the ROH the standards for induction have gone up through the years. The argument for Meredith being in the ROH with only one playoff win and no championships is a simple one he was the first good QB the Cowboys had and helped pave the way for their championship teams.

Tex Schramm created the ROH to honor the players that helped pave the way but things have changed a lot over the decades. Now the ROH has become about the players that have helped lead the Cowboys to championships.

Meredith and Don Perkins are the only players in the ROH that didn't help lead the Cowboys to a championship but they did pave the way from almost the very beginning. To add Romo to the ROH because of his career passer rating and stats that have been inflated by playing in a pass happy era wouldn't justify him being added in my opinion.

More importantly, you're not Jerry Jones 10 years from now when he will be even wackier and more sentimental. Both Romo and Witten will go in, there will be some (legitimate) discussion about whether they should leading up to it and then once they're in no one will care, like Dandy Don or Perkins or Haley. They'll just be in.

Witten is the only player who's a lock for the ROH regardless if he ends up without a ring. He's the greatest TE in franchise history and a virtual lock for the HOF Jerry wouldn't be able to justify not putting him in.

I can hear Jerry right now... "It's not a damn debate".... Jerry can do whatever he damn well pleases... His team... His stadium... His ROH.
