I don't think we should be moving anywhere, up or down. There is enough talent this year in the draft that we should get a good player, but probably not a starter.

We are set at QB, RB and TE. Just take the best player available that is not one of those 3 positions and I'll be happy.

Ugh, I hope not. Not unless someone we love falls dramatically.

We're already short some picks, so I hope we keep what we have. It all depends how the day unfolds, though.

If you think he is a bookend guard for the next 10 years with an outside shot at LT than I can buy into them trading up if they feel its whats best.

He seems like a perfect fit for what we do.

They will stick to their chart and pick the BPA. It's taken a long time to get to this point and I don't see them mucking it up by screwing around too much.

I wouldn't be upset if they traded down to the upper part of the second round as long as the talent didn't drop off too much. Otherwise they need to stay put. 27 is a great place to pick up a C/G who should project to start within 3 years or sooner at LG.

If we draft him he will start some where on the line if he projects to LT but they still want to start Flo then Kosier goes to the bench as a backup guard he starts at LG and takes over at LT in a year. Larry Allen played guard early switched to LT then back into Guard after age and injuries

What are the reports of Vladimir Ducasse (Am I even close on the name?)? Is he likely to be there at #27?

What's it going to be then, eh?

I believe he will move up with a good week plus the Combine.

But I doubt he moves much higher than the bottom of the first round, but he is definitely the sixth ranked tackle at this early stage.

From the looks of things he would be a good consideration.

Not to me, hes getting abused in practice.

#27 might be a terrible spot for us. Taylor Mays, Terrence Cody, OLB's, big WR's all could be the BPA. This is the year to trade up

Cincys at #21. Realistically wed trade a later pick. Id trade them #27 and Marty for #21 and their 3rd.

All he has to do is fall to the late teens and we will move up.

We're most likely going to trade up this year imo.

If we're going to trade up, I hope we trade up for an impact position, say like MLB and snag McClain or Spikes. Or trade up in the 2nd and use less picks and snag Chad Jones.

Trading up in the first for a freakin guard will have me off my rocker. Almost as bad as drafting a freaking kick-off-specialist in the 5th round. Once Buehler came aboard, Folk fell off.

You can benefit trading up, down or staying put.

It still comes down to properly evaluating the talent and taking the right guys.

Hindsight is always 20/20, but if we were as high on Unger as it was reported, than we made a mistake in not trading up. Of course that's assuming a reasonable deal was availible.

Point I'm making is that we should be in a "trade up" mind frame for a few reasons IF the situation is right.

Could we use a FS, NT and speedy WR/KR type? Yes. But they are not "must haves".

We must bring in new OL blood. And we must do it this draft.

We have 5 starters over 30, one what appears to be quality reserve capable of starting and one 2nd year guy who we like with no track record at all.

And that's it. Do we have anything else to get excited about? No

Yet we have 5 starters who may all be retired in 3 seasons or less!

You always want to BPA. But if you stand pat the chances that BPA fit the need aren't always good.

So we just need to burn up the phone lines and make a good trade up deal.

Actually I don't care what we do with respect to a trade.........

This is what I do want and believe we really need........

We need to select two Offensive Lineman in the first 3 rounds and those players need to be at least close to the BPA when selected.

Don't care if we trade up, down, backwards, sideways......trade a future pick, gain a future pick......don't care.

Just get good two good OL prospects in here!

How much "impact" would a young quality OG, someone significantly bigger, stronger and better than Koiser, have had in Minnesota?

I'll be off my freaking rocker if our first pick isn't an OL.

he's getting abused at tackle. If Dallas were to draft him i'd think they move him to Guard. We have a better shot at him in the 1st then Iupati. And I doubt Cincy would go with that. Reports are there high on Ed Dickson from oregon who will be there in the 2nd for sure.

I would too, but all of the juniors entering the draft is going to push some talent into the mid rounds. Last year was the year to move up, this is a good year to stay put.

Can someone convince me with links and or video that Ducasse is getting abused at tackle.

Last time I saw him he steamrolled Schofield, finished the block and drove him into the turf.

For the record I want Ducasse at guard.

Scott Wright had him as having a bad day 1 and Graham just torched him several times.

Hes way raw and a 3rd rounder to me

I think there is plenty of talent to be had with the picks we have. This isn't the greatest draft, but by no means should we sellout to get a single player.

Why do you have Wade "Failups" in your sig?

Scott Wright is just a guy with a web site.

I saw his detailed analysis on Ducasse's day.

I'll take him in a heart beat in 2-3 as a guard.

Trade up to the teens from #27? I SERIOUSLY doubt that. That would be expensive. Just to move up to around 20 would cost the Cowboys there #2 pick this year or their #1 next year. Considering how many underclassmen are in the draft, that isn't going to happen this year.

There will be no trading up this year unless it's only a couple of spots to leap frog someone. No way we trade into the teens. I think that would be foolish. Besides, I think Iupati is gone before then. He is the best linemen in the draft.

If this is a guy you think will be a Pro Bowl Left Tackle, you do it in a heartbeat.
