Can't wait!! I wouldn't be surprised if this is the best one of the series...

I don't know about best one but they are talking about $100+ million dollar first day opening.

Man, it saddens me that The Hunger Games and Twilight are on that list. "New Moon" is easily one of the worst films I have ever seen.

Yeah...maybe I'm just so hyped that I think it'll be the best one lol. I think Anthony Daniels said some months back that he thinks it could be the best one of the series. Which one it your favorite? I think ESB is the best one but I'm partial to ROTJ because that was the first one I saw in the theatre when I was a kid.

I'm expecting this one to be very much in the same vein of The Empire Strikes Back as I think the 'good guys' will be taking it on the chin in this one to set up the new trilogy.

ESB is great.

I lump the three movies into one story. I don't have a favorite. For me the scenes really make the movie... Because the story is so good. Instead of just great standalone scenes..

ANH - duel between Ben and Darth
ESB - father / son and Han... Chewy no, you have to take care of the princess.
ROTJ - Luke's final act (until now) father vs son, son vs emperor, father vs emperor

Check out this list. Pretty cool.

I'm probably a little younger than most here, and while I appreciate what Star Wars has done in terms of influence, there is a lot of camp involved in the original trilogy that I have a hard time overlooking. The practical effects are still stunning today though, but dialogue and acting I have always found to be lacking. I won't even discuss the prequels, no excuse for how bad those films were. I don't even think they are worth the view, skip them and watch the Clone Wars TV show.

I have faith in J.J. Abrams and I highly respect that with every film he's ever directed, he's kept his films plots and major scenes under wraps. Marketing teams need to take notes from him.

Well... Let me explain something to you. I don't mean in a sarcastic way.

There are some movies that have a good amount of campy dialogue or dialogue that could have been worded or said better.... Now here's the kicker. Some of that "makes the movie" what it is... What it becomes...

Because....

The actors and or story "captured" the viewer with eithe per their character building or on screen charisma.

There is some dialogue in the godfather movies that could have been better but the movie as a whole already had you.

Also, don't be too critical. You will find you won't enjoy much if you get too deep with it. Especially scifi or other fiction.

Just another to put viewing in perspective.

How many Oscar winners in that list?

I'm re-watching the original trilogy before next weekend. I started with ANH last night. I'm really not a big fan of that one. I think it is by far the weakest of the original trilogy, and the pacing reminds me a lot of the pacing of episode 1. I know Empire and Jedi are a lot better (IMO), but it was pretty difficult to sit through that one last night. It's obvious the quality difference between those that Lucas directs and those he doesn't.

Like every movie on that list.

Yeah, I thought Dark Knight Rises was awful for about 80% of the movie. I guess only Bruce Wayne can get his spine bent over someone's knee and only end up with a herniated disc that some doctor in a hole can heal. Just to add to the awfulness, he scaled a wall only one other ever made it up.

That particular part of the plot originated from the classic (understatement) Batman comics storyline titled Knightfall.
