Well, it's great to see a lot of guys here who enjoyed this show back in the 80s!

I had to record it on Wednesday and just got around to watching it last night. It would be hard to match the success of the original, but I think it's going to be good. They've set up a lot of good stories and I can't wait to see how they develop!

BTW, I attended the Bills game in Dallas last year. Before the game, they kept making an announcement asking the crowd to welcome J. R. Ewing while they showed Larry Hagman (as J. R.) in the suite with Jerry. They did several takes of this to get the crowd cheering the way they wanted. I'm guessing we'll see this in the episode that Jerry has worked himself into.

Oh, the show revolves around JR, if they ever marginalize his part they are in trouble. I watched with low expectations and really liked them having a lot of twists/backstabbing involved, that's what the show is suppose to be about.

No doubt Larry Hagman playing JR made the show worth watching. He just has that look and mannerism to play a ruthless scum bag back stabber.

People remember the Genie more than him. She was the eye candy that got viewers to tune in. With the show Dallas it is Hagman as JR that people tuned in for. It was the perfect role for him as opposed to major nelson

While I agree with you, his comic presence on Jennie was very good. I thought the two diametrically opposed parts shows how good of an actor he really was/is.

I don't know I never cared for him on I dream of Genie. However I would say the same with Tom Hanks on his 1st show Bosom Buddies that aired in the early 80's

If Barber Eden was not on the show I would not have watched it. One of my 1st boyhood crushes was Barber Eden.

Yeah, I had a crush on her as well. When they first showed the belly button I think people went nuts. Funny how times have changed, huh?

No doubt about that. Her outfit would be considered very conservative today. :laugh2:

sorry to bump an old thread but Jerry was on tonight's episode. I forgot he was going to be on one, surprised me. Thought it was pretty cool.
