when he breaks a combine record and runs a 4.1 he wont be there in the 3rd, possible late 1st early 2nd.

He may break 4.3 though and has before.

I think Ford is the type of player the offense and STs need, and I think in the 3rd he'd be a very good pick-up.

That said, he could easily go in the top of the 3rd or even in the bottom half of the 2nd round.

Clemson's Jacoby Ford was the only wide receiver at the Combine to register a 10-yard split blow 1.5 seconds.

Ford's forty (4.28) also tied for the second fastest in Combine history, behind Chris Johnson (4.24). The ten-yard split measures burst in the first ten yards. Ford doesn't look as fast in games, but he is making people take notice.

Maybe because he really didn't run a 4.1 forty? Just guessing (by 99.999% sure) it was hand timed and inaccurate.

Those are amazing times...honestly very, very impressive for sheer speed. Not even remotely close to the 4.1 stated by someone else though.

The point is, he does not have an electronically timed 4.1 forty time. It's really common for those lower level track meets, or even some pro days, to miss 40 times by a whole, whole lot. If you don't buy it, just ask around...my guess is that amost everybody with experience in this on this board will tell you the same.

The 4.126 40 was at a Fork Union Military Academy "combine" way back in 2005. I just found it unusual that he would never match that again. The irony, my father coached at FUMA for several years way back when.

Usain bolt clocked a time of 10.4 before he broke the record with a 9.5, so whats your point??

well actually was for 7 years, but still a bag fan. And with what attitude exactly big guy? I'd say 8-5 with a 3rd string QB and one of the best Offenses in C-USA ain't to shabby, are you sure we're living on the same planet?

Your guys are on the rise, relatively speaking. With a DFW recruiting base, I always wondered why they weren't better. I went to UNC and ECU. Although ECU has won your conference for two years running, I think SMU beat them this season. The Pirate fans really railed on them for that and made some excuse like maybe the overlooked them or something, but I tried to tell them that SMU is getting better and can cause trouble at home if you don't play well. So grudging props to the Ponies for that.
