Phillips has had history of concussions that made him retire when at UCLA. Him being absent when he could have gotten a clean bill of health from NFL doctors raises red flags for me
Where are you getting that he no showed? He tested positive for covid and wasn’t able to attend

It was COVID related, however, there were apparently some whispers that he may have faked the diagnosis because of a potential failed drug test.
Seems quite far fetched to me. I would assume that he would have had to provide some sort of confirmation to the NFL to skip the medical exam.
Probably....and you came real close to convincing me he is the guy to get.Fake news.

I prefer to take some chances but this guy in this environment has gotta be a no for me.
I'm concerned that the first hit after the check clears is about all we are going to see from him.
I'd rather bet on Ojulari. I just don't see enough difference to justify to risk.
Off course all moot because that first pick is going to be a corner and we all know it.
How on earth would you fake a positive covid test.

Did those "whispers" come from a team hoping to see him drop?

Very well could. But at the end of the day, I can't imagine the NFL would have a process in place where a guy could just skip a medical evaluation without proving the reason for missing it. So I can't really go down that rabbit hole on Phillips.
