Who??

Please someone say MATT JONES!!!!

Matt Jones.

We should sign him. Underachiever, in trouble... he'd fit right in.

This can't be. Has someone informed the Jags GM that Jones is white?

I don't care bout the coke we should bring him in he's a good player and he's from Arkansas. We could do the wild hog also.....

no, senility is believing Spears is worth being taken ahead of Ware because he's the, "better prospect"

btw, Parcells' 3-4 is 2-gap where the front 3 clear the lanes for the OLBs

You still do not understand what '1' and '2' gap means. It's one or two gaps. Not 2-gap. A gap is a letter but the responsibility of a one-gap DT or NT in a 3-4 is one gap usually one of the A gaps. A two-gap DT or NT generally has both A gaps as well as usually two players in a 3-4 often covering the center. In the 3-4. Mostly. The one gap DT or NT is generally called a 3-technique DT as well. That's a misnomer but people know what you're talking about and its actually the more common term. It's also the most misused IMO. The larger NTs like Washingto are called 2-technique DTs. Ratliff is a 3-technique DT or NT playing one gap and has more range to cover and is expected to penetrate (mostly). DEs in the 3-4 like Parcells have two gaps as well. With only three guys covering 5-7 OL/TEs if the DL doesn't take two gaps then the LBs have to cover them.

Apparently you thought I was drunk and didn't know what I was talking about the last time this came up. If you're calling a 2-gap the same as two gaps or a two-gap then forgive me but you are using the wrong terminology.

Well Jerry it is your move now.. I think Matt did all of this just to get to Dallas. I think that he can make a change. After all he didn't kill anybody. I would say sign him and Torry Holt to one year contracts and lets get the ball rolling.

I believed what Parcells said at the time. I have no way of proving that he wasn't lying, however.

Let's see. When have you ever found anyone in this organization to be truthful post-draft?

I've heard over and over "we were really lucky to get player X in the 2nd round... we debated taking him in the first ... we tried to trade into the first to get him but didn't find any takers..." It is always the same stuff post-draft - the "wow, we are soooooo lucky it worked out that way."

that's exactly what I'm saying

I just label it 2-gap, it's easier for me

anyways, the point is the 3-down linemen in Parcells' 3-4 have 2 gap responsibilities, so down linemen are pretty important, and at the time of that draft, Parcells had one legit player, Ferg

There are a lot of smoke screens, of course, but I do think honesty creeps in at times.

For example,

I do think Jerry was honestly excited to get both Ware and Spears that day.

I do think that Jerry was honest as he voiced his excitement about drafting Stanback ... and that Jerry truly believed that there were a couple of other teams who were planning to take Stanback.

Let me ask -- you seemed really willing to accept the "Parcells wanted Spears over Ware" line because BP mentioned he wouldn't have gambled that way.

Does this mean you also accept BP's claim that the Jacob Rogers pick was a group decision? B/c if you are going to take one statement at face value, you can't pick and choose without being a hater.
