Ferg is hungry and he plays with intensity. He won’t back down from anyone which is something this team needs. It feels like we started adding players with this mentality the last couple of years. I feel like that is something that’s been missing from this franchise for years, we’ve had a bunch of “nice” guys.

Ferg and Lamb are the only targets we can count on at this point. I am more concerned with Cooks, Schoonmaker, Tolbert, Brooks, Turpin, and the RB. We need more than two playmakers.
Turpin didn't get a lot of touches, but he made a lot out of them.

Ferg and Lamb are the guys to depend on. But Turpin should get more touches. Maybe he'll keep producing.

I forgot that Ferg had a good game in the playoff. I was disgusted by the triple slant and Dak's inabilty to see the corner peel. The third time he threw into that coverage, I was too angry to recognize Ferg's game.

Cooks is pretty good. Dak couldn't connect the long ball, but he busted free a few times. Hopefully they get their timing right.

In the playoff game Dak was trying to get him the ball and just could not. Hopefully, they are working on the timing as you say.

Well, unless he has another gear hidden somewhere I'm afraid he is what he is. I like that he spunky, but he's never going to stretch the field as a TE. He's just a short to intermediate threat that you can get in the 5th round of any draft. If he continues to catch the ball consistently and do what he showed I am more than happy. Just catching passes on a regular basis is a positive.

Love this.......I'm expecting him to elevate his game as Dak's 2nd target after Lamb.

Jake Ferguson: I’m not even scratching the surface of what I can do

Published May 18, 2024 08:09 AM

Tight end Jake Ferguson took on a big role in the Cowboys offense during his second season with the team.

Ferguson had 19 catches as a rookie, but took advantage of Dalton Schultz’s departure to step up his production. He caught 71 passes for 761 yards and five touchdowns and then capped the year with 10 catches for 93 yards and three touchdowns in a playoff loss to the Packers.

A repeat of that would likely make the Cowboys happy, but Ferguson believes that the ceiling is even higher.

“To me, I think I’m not even scratching my surface,” Ferguson said, via Todd Archer of ESPN.com
Which essentially means it's his last year in Dallas. Stephen is not paying

I think they'll lean on him a bit more this season.......
I'm curious about that. I think with the running backs we acquired (backs whose strength is up the middle instead of outside) and the plans for the line (power in the middle with Smith, Beebe, Martin), if those things come to fruition, we could see McCarthy use the fullback more, which would cut into Schoonmaker's playing time. I think with the backs we have, we'll need to pound the middle when we run, so that lends itself to having a lead blocker out of the backfield. Of course, we could motion a TE into the backfield for that.
