They gotta have SOME leverage, don’t they? The players already make way too much money,

No ........ Because if the team was not still making hand over fist money they would not pay them. The salary cap was created by the owner so they can keep making billions of dollars a year and only pay 200 mill in player costs.

If they were not making money they would not pay them ...... If there was no salary cap they would keep paying them because even 200 million is chump change compared to what they are bringing in a year.

The owners do not want free market because it screws their 500 percent profit margin

It's time to make a move and go get a good veteran replacement for Jarwin.

We can talk about Schultz when we see how he's gonna do in the new system w/o Cooper, Wilson, and Jarwin.

Nah most just want Dalton to realize he is not Jason Witten,, Kittle or Kelce
There is absolutely no indication Schultz thinks of himself that way. A player negotiating a contract that he feels reflects his market value doesn't mean he thinks he is the best in the game or among the best in history.

I'd grab the best te in fa right now.

I'd just soon have a better veteran passing duo at te going forward rn than Schultz, Ferguson, and the practice squad blockers.

Our depth at te doesn't match the type of offense we run w all the 12 formations.

We can't just play w a designated blocker at te and a rookie. Raise the bar up to 2 having 2 good receiving tes if it's gonna be a lot of that 12 personnel.

Between Te, Wr, and Rb we're missing 1-2 proven long term playmakers imo.

Bring some tes into the building now. Let's see what a Rudolph, Cook, Gronk, Graham, etc could do that McKeon and Ferguson can build off of.

Bring in some RB or Wrs that can play the run n shoot. Lol

We just need a lil veteran insurance imo.

One bad step and you're playing with a rookie and 2 warm bodies

I suspect they would be on slippery legal ground trying to do that. Having salary caps at all is already outside what the law would allow in other businesses, but having a general cap that affects all teams and positions is one thing, and singling out specific positions to be paid more or less is another. It would be hard to argue that the NFL could restrict the ability of a WR to compete for salary the same as a QB. Under the current system the team might make that distinction depending on who the WR and QB are, but to make it policy may be stretching how much control the owners can have.
Perhaps, I'll sit back and wait how it turns out when the rate of what the players are making surpasses the rate of what the Cap is. QBs will be making 70 mil a year in about 10 years or so

So should NFL owners have a limit to how much they can make? You know since we are limiting how much a player can make because of the salary cap that the owners made so they would not have to pay players.
I wouldn't be against it. But everybody will be pissed when the QB is making 70 us mil almost half of the salary Cap. No way average players should be payed like Elite players

Who's being played??. I'm not getting any of it my guy the players are, but it's also what they signed on for. So until THEY do something and want change THEY will continue to get screwed by the CAP

He is worth every dime he can manage to get out of this most important 2nd contract.

Ya know, if they don't want to pay him, they shouldn't have made him 2nd in receptions and targets last season.
exactly. Who's game plan is it target Schultz over anybody else on this offense.

We Want Answers lol.

Yeah let's see some more of that Tony Pollard and Zeke playing together

You can advocate for those poor, oppressed players all you want. Not me. Zero sympathy. Do the owners make RIDICULOUS money? Of course. Are the owners greedy? You betcha! But I’d bet the farm the disparity between Joe Shmoe and HIS boss is much greater, plus, I’d wager Shmoe isn’t working his dream job like Mahomes or Brady. Not only that, players are making F.U. money, so no, you won’t see tears in this zip code.

Just sayin’…

Why? Because it’s not yours? How “enlightened”. And no, your take has ZERO effect on mine. No sympathy for Johnny Football. Dak could quit right now, move to the mountains, and live like a king for the next fifty years. Could you?
