That Romo is a coach killer. Now that was the first time I've heard that.
Is he a coach killer?
I still see a kid, that is living out his fantasy, that is how he looks to me everytime I see him. Immature.

He needs to take charge, and step into reality. He is the QB and the leader of this team.

Gee, what a surprise. The Romo Lemmings are startin' up agin.
A coach killer.
Let's see, Romo is among the elite in QBs in ratings. Relatively young and aside from a pinkie, pretty durable. Before his injury he was shootin' them really nice and winning. And leading.

The better question might be, is Wade the coach killer? In this case the decedent being Jerra, the coach-owner.
But Jerra is keeping Wade so maybe with fans like you, Romo should look elsewhere.
And you can keep Wade. Jerra deserves what he will be gittin.

Everyone feels the need to have a dramatic opinion when it comes to the Cowboys.

There is no in-between with these guys in the media and it leaks into our fan base as well.

Tony Romo isn't a Coach Killer.

There's actually another guy on our roster that fits that description alot more than Tony Romo.

And of course the guy is living out his fantasies, most NFL players and highly successful people tend to do that.

Until proof can be offered that his personal life is affecting his professional career, it is pure speculation.

I'm not ready to give up on a guy that has only started for a little over 2 NFL Seasons.

there is no one on this team that fits the description of coach killer.

Rank the best QBs in football.

Brady, Manning... Then things become debatable.

Brees, Delhomme, Manning, Warner, Rivers, Cutler...

Not too many I'd want over Romo. He's shattering records, and he's only 29.

Romo is one slippery football and a sloppy Crayton route away from being the 3rd best QB in football from the media's standards.

There isn't anyone thats going to take us furthur than Romo, so we just have to deal with the fact that our girlfriend has a nice rack - but her face is a little busted. Bottom line.

UH, Brady and Peyton, Brees, Delhomme not just NO! but hell NO!. Eli, I do not see it, he is like Delhomme so Hell NO!, I do not care if he has a ring, they won in spite of him.

Warner , NO, Rivers NO, Cutler has potential and he is comong along fine.

I think it's going a bit far to label Romo as a supposed coach killer. I just think he has some aspects to his game that still need improvement. To label him a coach killer?? That's a bit extreme.

If I had a dime for every time I have ranted this I might be pretty well off by now. Hopefully at some point in his career he does step up and become the leader his guys need him to be at the QB position.

That said, Blame is not unique to just Romo. Wade Wilson isn't doing crap to help mold Romo and Garrett needs to step up to the plate as well. The day that I see Romo get in one of his guys *** about a bad route as they reconvene the huddle will be the day I start to think that he just might be ready to take it to the next level.

Wade Wilson, I will have to say was a bad choice to be the QB coach. He had a long career, and he had plenty of shots as a starting QB, he couldn't do it. Wade Wilson and rich Gannon(until he got to Oakland with Gruden) there was one more guy, cannot think of his name now, but these guys were hot n cold QBs, when they were hot they just torched a secondary, but when they were cold they made a secondary looked like allstars, so I did not like the hiring of Wade Wilson, I did not want him around Romo and now since you have brought his name up, his influence may be rubbing off on Romo, with all the forced INTs that Romo throws, now that you have me thinking back, Romo's Ints are just like Wade Wilson's use to be.

Romo is a good QB who already has all the natural tools to be great - reads defenses well, quick release, pocket presence, etc. And he IS improving believe it or not. I would wager a large amount of money that next season will be his best to date. Sure, he may be impetuous his entire career but I guarantee his decision-making will continue to improve as he gains experience in big games.

The perception of him is correct in many ways - he is too loose and free with the football in my opinion as well, and it has cost us games. But the reality (hopefully) will be that his ad lib play will resemble Staubach more than Favre as he matures into a truly great QB...

If Romo's immature, which he maybe alittle, why not say it about the rest of his offense, outside of Witten the rest of that offense is one big penalty machine the O-line in particular and T.O. can't even spell MATURE and drops a ton of passes. So if Romo looks immature look at what he's got to work with.

Witten is just as much a penalty machine as anyone else on the offense. I believe his standard penalties are illegal motion and illegal formation.

As for the rest of your post, I do agree with the offense and them being one big penalty machine.

A few years ago he used to be good for one every game, I think he's got it under control for the most part now. He's not even nearly as penalized as Flo. I can cut a guy like Witten some slack because he gives it his all even when he's hurt, that really impresses me about him.

In his first 38 starts, Romo has thrown 79 TD's and 45 INT's.

In his first 38 starts, Brett Favre threw 62 TD's and 50 INT's.

If Romo's a coach-killer, how on earth did Holmgren, Reid, Mariucci, and Gruden survive?

Because like with Romo, Favre was a coach saver, not a coach killer.

Does anyone think Wade Phillips would have made it past one season if Drew Bledsoe was still the QB? Now apply that same question to a whole lot of other QBs in the league.

Romo's record and numbers show he is a big reason for Dallas having as much success as it has had the past few seasons. To call him a coach killer is ridiculous. We know he's not a finished product, but neither Parcells nor Phillips would have had as much success as they did in Dallas without him (and if he hadn't gotten injured, we'd likely already be a playoff lock this year as well).

Until proven otherwise, he is a coach killer.

that is ridiculous, the premise is wrong in the first place but now you require him to prove otherwise.

you cannot prove or disprove a negative

In order to be a coach killer, don't you have to get a coach killed/fired?

So who has he gotten fired yet?

Romo may be a coach killer....

But, someone ought to tell Mr. Jamie Dukes about another kind of killer.....

Greasy, Fatty, Fried Foods. He better watch his back.

Is Romo a coach killer or are the coaches killing Romo?
Our O line coach isn't helping.
Our OC isn't helping.
our WR coach isn't helping.
Our Defensive Mr Fix it just started helping.
I'd say it's the other way around.;)

Thanks for posting this link, WG.

After watching the clip, it isn't really like Dukes is coming down so hard on Romo.

Here's the key paraphrase:

At this time, Romo represents a coach killer at times.

Dukes is being very tentative in his statement. Laughably tentative.

The best part of that entire clip is watching Jerry Jones get pissed with the media. I haven't seen him do that very often.
