Jarwin vs Ebron?

It's actually a great deal regarding Jarwin. They extended him for 4 years, with an AAV of 5.5 mil. However, he only got 4mil in signing bonus and only his first year has a guaranteed base.

Basically, if he crashes and burns they can get rid of him in a year or two even with minimal dead cap.
If he plays well, his cap hits are extremely reasonable.
3.25 mil this year
5.25 next
6.25 2022
7.25 mil 2023

Peanuts considering what Kittle and others will get with the rising cap.

I would take Pollard for 6 million over Jarwin for 4 million. That is kinda a no brainer.

The guy produces big time whenever he's targeted.
Give him targets and he puts up numbers comparable to the leagues best.

There is a big difference of limited playing time to being a full fledged starter....

He is also another player that disappeared in big games.

And they know what they are getting in Jarwin. Seen him in camp since his rookie year.

Ebron IMO has the higher peak, but has been inconsistent his entire career.

Cmon that is ridiculous. We would be lucky if Jarwin came anything close to Ebron. Amazing that people will convince themselves of.

Jarwin is young and has upside. We can improve at TE, but we could be worse. At least we didn't break the bank for him. I think the offense can be very effective if the game plan doesn't get in the way. Hopefully McCarthy and Moore can work together to create a very good offense. Now we just need defense. I'm not sold on our new DC and our current talent on that side.

Limited playing time is why you think he's a JAG.
He produces when targeted.
You will see this this season.

Jarwin was basically wide open because nobody ever thought he was going to do anything. He was the 6th option in the passing game.

Pollard has been the #1 or #2 option for a couple years now and a redzone stud.

Jarwin is a budding star. He will shine. Ebron is up and down...drops passes. This was the better signing getting Jarwin.
Jarwin has the knack for YAC and knows how to get to the end zone. Has 3 td in a giants game. He needs reps.

Yeah I think people remember Ebron for what he was with Detroit. Which he was inconsistent there but he looked to have potential. I think this is what he is. I think Jarwin has higher upside due to his ability to run after the catch. I

People remember Ebron for what he has done the last two years. Which is tear up the NFL.

No, I am countering your stance that is impacts games. I'm saying, this becomes very different when you become THE guy. Many players look great in limited roles.

And again, he very rarely shows up in big games. Can you name me one where he did?

Oh yah...…………….if he knows how to get in the endzone then how many TD's did he have outside the Giants game?

To compare Jarwin to Ebron is laughable. If anyone has a nose for the endzone, its Ebron.

Yes. The Giants game where he scored 3 TDs. All games are big games.
Can you show where he is consistently targeted?

Jarwin caught 76 percent of his targets.

Off to see what Ebron.

(I make enough of my own mistakes without the help of auto-carrot.)

I have NEVER heard anyone bring up catch % when comparing two TE's or receivers.

He only gets 30 passes a year.

Both had 31 receptions last year and 3 TDs.

Can you show where he is consistently targeted?

Why wasn't he consistently targeted? And no, all games aren't big games.

He wasn't consistently targeted because he was on the sidelines.
Yes. In the NFL all games are big. one loss can cost you a season.

LOL what? That wasn't a big game. How did he play in the playoffs that year?

3 catches for 15 yards against the Seahawks
2 catches for 17 yards against the Rams

Real game changer.

LOL. You didn't think that game was big? Why did you watch it then?
You listed 5 catches in 2 games proving my point he isn't targeted.
