I'm fine with the conservative approach. I think they're slowly building him up to a 15-20 snap count early in the regular season. They'll see how he responds and they'll go from there.

If he has a setback everyone will be screaming they should have stayed patient. Nature of the beast.

He is pretty much doing everything in practice and we have heard nothing to indicate he has had any problems with any of it. It is a limited sample, but the practice clips seem to make him look like he is faster than most every other LB we have. I know they want to get to a point where the nerve is 100% but it doesn't seem like activity will hinder that process.

Right now, the fact that Smith hasn't played in a competitive football game since January 1, 2016, worries me more than his injury. I think his knee is strong enough; we've seen that in practice.

Now it's time to get him acclimated to playing again.

It doesn't seem, but wouldn't it be a B if his Richie brace injures him in some way, on game day? Especially on a meaningless play. I'm sure the Cowboys, as a team, would want him to be as close to being done with this drop-foot, if not done altogether, as possible before giving him the full bill of health.

I think the boys are being way too conservative by not letting him play at all in the next game. You can start him off with say 10 plays; then next game 15; next game 20, etc.

I think Cowboys have a handle on how they want to work Jaylon in. Dallas has 4 pre season game to get him ready

That's one way to look at it........ per usual the company line........ultra conservative

Company is around Jaylon daily as opposed to the fans. Jaylon will see action this pre season I feel confident about that if it is this upcoming game vs the Rams great if it is the following week I'm good with that as well.

No surprise to me based on those short clips we see from people posting on Twitter.

He is really moving around well.

It's hard to tell but he looks quicker than everyone else but it could just be the camera angle so we won't know how good he can be this year until we see him in pre-season.

Quicker, and bigger!

So if he plays 10 snaps, and does nothing, does he get a pass? Or do fans go all Taco on him and call him a bum?
