Jason Hatcher has 7-8 teams interested in his services.

And the 3 tech puts him in a lot better position to get sacks than the 3-4.

Right. I don't think this is one of those situations where a player just decided to show up in a contract year. That's not fair to Hatch. He simply was put in a better position to succeed. He's always been solid for us. I wish him the best whether its with us or not. I just hope if its with us we're not overpaying him or giving him more than a year or two.

No thanks, I really don't like paying a guy for 1 great season................we tried that with Miles Austin and we all see how that ended up.

Let some other team back up the Brink's truck.

Haha c'mon what a joke

Hatcher had 1 good year and it was in his last chance at getting a nice contract. Hatcher has been a JAG most of his career, signing one of those 2 is the better option because they're 5 years younger and have had more production.

I'm not sure how to view Hatcher.

I know he virtually was the last man standing from what was spposefd to be the OL along with Ratliff and Spencer.

But actually..

when Ratliff and Spencer were healthy as was Ware..

Hatcher sort of disappeared and wasn't the man guy.

But with them all out or diminished..

When Spencer was healthy with injured or diminished Ratliff and Ware (and with the disappeared Hatcher) he had his best season.

7.5 sacks for Spencer came from Cleveland on. Ratliff didn't play after that and Ware had 2 sacks in that span.

Seems odd to be suspect of Hatcher's production because it came in the absence of Ware, Ratliff and Spencer when it was only in the absence of Ware and Ratliff that Spencer was particularly productive.

many seem to think Hatchetr is the answer to the DL if Ware splits.

Not me.

If Ware goes..Hatcher becomes much less effective.

Which is a weird follow up to the statement above about Hatcher only being productive when Ware and others are out or diminished.

So what you're really saying is that Hatcher needs Ware on the team, but that he also needs Ware to be unproductive?

What is Hatcher asking for?

That is a good question. I haven't heard of any numbers that he's supposedly seeking.

Side not. Did see that Kaepernick is asking $18M/season, at least. Comparable to Romo and Cutler.

melton is nothing but a drunk wife beater coming off a torn ACL. No thanks , rather spend money somewhere else.

People are interested in toothpaste too. What's the difference.

I'm in the minority, I guess. Hatcher is a good player and I think it sucks that he's most likely leaving.

One of the few bright spots last year.

Yeah, he is QC without the balls, yeah I said it. Limited, would take Wilson anyday...who is also limited but has the qualities I want in a QB, maybe with improved short/med accuracy (yes Romo has him beat in mid range acc. but could learn from the youngin about just keeping drives alive)

On a sidenote: why is Witten our delegated outlet option; to keep drives alive? Love his game as a hands player (where he catches it is where he stays) but has little ability to break tackles. Why in the world is he our flat player in JG's scheme? Jeebus. USE Murray when healthy, flat passes to our RBs is another slight innovation that could easily be added to assist this situation. You want easier 3rd down conversions...throw a GD flat! Not some simple out/comeback combination that works if you run the ball and have perfect accuracy (Romo is not Aikman) Adjust to your talent!

Hatcher will be an Eagle

And...:D Let em ride...he is a NE guy by attitude. We don't mind player opinion so much;) No SB in 14 = no point clinging to aging talent (Romo exception of course).

I now hear he will be asking for 7 mil per. Jerry would be foolish to offer more than 4 if we obtain cap space. Cant see committing to old guys at that. And Hatcher is playing young. But his attitude was known last season he was excited to get the next contract. Sad hearing this attitude when the team needs players who talk about winning. So if I'm jerry and I document the money talk from 97 I let him walk and offer even less than 4 mil 2 years. Look for a Joseph type and a low tier guy to rotate. We rotated non NFL guys last season. Depth here in Dallas is pathetically incorrect lol.

Don't get me wrong, with Romo and Dez @ 100%, incorporating Murray @ the right level, COULD lead to great success. I doubt JG knows how to do this and am actually somewhat relieved that Linney was brought in to assist with this problem. You want to throw all day? Do it the somewhat right way...throw to your Rb's and USE your #1 correctly...why JG needs to stay is still a question I have a problem solving:rolleyes:
