well I can see them bringing him in mid season... Use him for depth before the payoffs with zero guarantees to stay on roster but grab him up for the late season push.

Too much risk of another team grabbing him if Dallas doesn't make an offer soon imo.

They know what they've got in Peters and they know they can bring him in after camp and still have him be productive. In the meantime, they need to see exactly what they've got with the rest of the backups and give them a chance to develop.
