Why not see if Parcells will trade him for Ellis? One disguntled thirty-something for another.

I would give Miami our 28th pick for J.T., let's not forget how the Giants got to the Super Bowl-pressure on the quarterback! He would love to play again with his brother in law Zach. Just imagine Demarcus Ware on one side, and Jason Taylor on the other side. WOW! Go ahead wit the he's 32 years old stuff, remember the future is here, this team is ready to contend this year.

Ask Tony Romo, & Tom Brady how much time they had to find receivers when they both got beat by an agressive defense that the Giants threw at them. I know Jason is at the end of his career, but so is T.O. and others, what I'm saying is that we should have been playing in the Super Bowl and got knocked out by a good defense. Do you want a nother Bobby Carpenter or Marcus Spears with the 28th pick?

So Jason would play on the otherside of Ware...by that I guess you mean the other OLB spot. So what you're saying is bring him in and sit Ellis and Spencer on the bench behind him? Ummmm...no.

If he came in here, and I do not believe at all we'd give up anything near a first rounder for him, he'd be playing DE and not OLB.

Isnt that ludicrous?

A 1st for a guy that may only play a year or two.

On one of the Dolphin boards Finheaven, someone posted that on the sports
channel down here they were reporting that Bill and Jerry were actually trying
for this exact deal.Fwiw.

You mean the same aggressive Defense which we hung up 75+ points on in two games?

We lost cause TO was hurt and had no one else to pick up the slack.

If you want to beat the Giants D again, get another WR to complement TO.

Offer a swap for Ellis + one of Carpenter/Spears. If there is no bite, move on. We are actually quite strong at OLB this year.

The other possibility I would consider is a 3-way deal where we give up the above and get Taylor but Parcells could move Ellis on to another team - maybe get a 2nd rounder.

There is ZERO reason to trade Ellis for Taylor. That is a wash. Ellis did just fine with his 12 sacks on the otherside of Ware last year. There is no need to trade his 30 something butt for another 30 something butt AND give up a first rounder to do so. That is just plain stupid.

taylor is much better than ellis and it is not even close. we would be competing with the giants for the best pass rush in the league and would help us match up better against the pats.

Taylor isn't going to give them anymore than the same 12 sacks that Ellis did so it's a push deal and you'd be giving up a #1 for a guy just as old, if not older, than the guy we've already got. That is just dumb.

I know that "the future is now", but a 1st for a 32 yr old OLB/DE... thats a joke. Especially when we already have Ware/Ellis/Spencer.

Taylor is too small to play DE in a 3-4. Ellis was too small as well and that is why Parcells worked him away from DE and to OLB in Dallas' second year playing the 3-4 system.

Exactly. So why in the world would be bring him in? We're not going to trade a 1st rounder for one over the hill 30 something year old OLB when we've already got one that has proven he'll produce just as much as Taylor would in this system.

It makes no sense to just throw away a first rounder like that.

To give up anything of value for Taylor would be indefensible. He'll be 34 when the season starts.

I wouldn't give anything more than a 6th.

I don't see why Dallas wants to end up with an old team I would hope we are looking to win now as well as the near future. I'm not interested in a 1 year run and then back to the bottom.
