I think we'll destroy the Skins in Dallas, but having no Jason Taylor still makes me smile.
This will be a chance to see if Eramus James has any game at all.

And now he can't play because he got a calf bruise?!? Jason Witten gets his shoulder popped back in at halftime and continues to catch passes!

Ellis ('07-'08) >>>>>>> Taylor ('07-'08)
Sorry 'bout your luck.
tomson75;2279617 said:I absolutely love it when posters do this. They're losing an argument and they throw out crap like this...as a matter of fact, I was just talking about htis in another thread.
Taylor's play has been in decline for some time now. Ellis' has been steadily improving.

Now your changing the 'argument'... I'm quite lucky, as this thread more than demonstrates.. The fact is, even your latest argument sucked, because Greg Ellis has been hurt way more than Jason ever was and missed way more games. So you lost again... You tried to change the argument to Jason taylor being hurt this year and Greg Ellis not, which proves he is more valuable. That is like saying Reeves is a more valuable cornerback for Houston than Newman is to the Cowboys, because Newman sat out games with a groin injury.
tomson75;2281918 said:Umm.....so what does the first quoted sentence tell you? Jesus man, you take like 24 hours to think of something and that's the best you can come up with?
I didn't bring up injuries as an excuse either for or against. You did. Your dog is old and tired, more so than mine.
It's not 2005, Barney. Give it up.

It wasn't an excuse... It is a fact... And when you brought up Greg Ellis being injured and recovering, I brought up the fact that Greg Ellis has missed more games than Jason Taylor ever has...
So what have you actually brought to the table regarding Greg Ellis being better than Jason taylor? Nothing...
*sigh* YOU are the one that brought up Taylor playing on a sprained knee...hence the YOU were using the injury as a crutch statement. For the love of god, keep up.
I could care less about what they did 3-4 years ago bro...hence my IT"S NOT 2005 statement. Ellis has been a far better player than Taylor for the last year and a half...sorry that hurts your feelings.
You've brought jack squat to this conversation. Nothing. Zip. Zero. Zilch.
Look. I have nothing against you. You like Taylor. I like Ellis...well sorta...I just think he's a far better player for our system at this point. There is no point arguing this any further. Cheers.
Mooby;2282525 said:I think it's funny how most of you are assuming you are just going to roll over us just because you beat a couple of other teams. Last year before the first game we had to put up with your crap, the general consensus was that you guys were gonna demolish us and win in a blowout, and the fact of the matter remains you didn't. You guys won, I'll give you credit, but it was a close game throughout that came down to the final minute. I won't even talk about the second game because you guys will just throw the house of excuses at us as to why that doesn't matter.
Haven't you guys learned by now that division games bring a little extra to the table? You think we are just going to come in your house and be quiet and be manhandled at your will? You know the Skins are feeling excited right about now after our two confidence building wins against two pretty decent teams (Don't kid yourselves, the Cards are good enough to win the NFC West and the same would go for the Saints if they had a decent defense), and they know what's at stake at this game. This isn't the Commanders team you faced two years ago in '06 (The reason I bring this up is because that was the last time the Cowboys won the game easily against the Skins, and we were downright horrible all throughout that year.) and even when you guys beat us last year the majority of your fans were concerned with the state of your defense for allowing us to stay in the game throughout.
All I'm trying to say here is that just because you guys rolled over the Packers and the Browns (like they are the powerhouse of the AFC this year) and won a shootout against the Eagles doesn't mean you are going to roll over us.

Jason Taylor-DL-Commanders Sep. 24 - 12:20 pm et
Doctors told Jason Taylor that he "would be done forever" if he hadn't undergone Monday's emergency calf surgery. Taylor was at risk of amputation had he waited longer due to nerve damage and "tissue necropsy." The surgery has him out indefinitely with no timetable for return. "Nobody knows when the body is going to respond," he said.
