2005 called. It wants it's preconceived notions back.

Jason Taylor doesn't play alongside Demarcus Ware and Ratliff... Nor does he have the benefit of playing in a scheme like Wade's... He had 11 sacks last year while playing for a 1-15 team. That is one less sack then Greg Ellis had last year, with that defense... He had 4 passes defelcted, 3 FF, 1 interception that was returned 36 yards and 46 tackles, 22 more than Ellis. He had 4 passes deflected last year and has 4 this year already. Ellis best year is equivalent to an average year by Jason Taylor.

Anybody that claims Greg Ellis is anywhere near Taylor is judging by pure emotion...

And Jason Taylor is not as bad as Greg Ellis is in coverage...

Man this is a rivalry game, you know the skins are goin gto bring theirbest effort on sunday. I'm expecting the usual dogfight between these two.

Please, they almost got beat on their own feild by the freaking Cardinals and you think they are going to go toe to toe with Dallas, in our house

We drop 40 easily if Wade doesnt call the dogs off, especially with no Jason Taylor.:D

Gotcha...the 'sacks' tells the whole story argument. Works every time.

You'd expect that o-line to actually provide enough room to gain a yard in December :)

Yea yea, I know, nobody played that game except for your mother on the o-line. Regardless, I think she would have blocked well enough to gain a yard

That is the best smack you got bro, last December:confused:

I do know one thing, you are going to be sitting on the couch watching us come this December because with the G-men, Beagles, and us.....well the chances of the Skins making the playoffs is slim and none and slim just left the building.:laugh2:

It isn't even about sacks... Jason taylor had 22 more tackles, had as many forced fumbles, had more passes deflected last year than Greg Ellis did last year and played on a 1-15 team . He also had an interception returned for a TD. When Greg Ellis played for crappy Dallas teams, he didn't even sniff more then ten sacks per year. He was just plain average.

Most people think Greg Ellis is better because of sacks, and that too because of 1 year where he is playing in Wade Phillips defense with Ware taking all the double-teams. Even then, Ellis had only one more sack. Wade Phillips made Marcellus Wiley look better than he actually was.

Jason Taylor would be a force on the Dallas defense. Even when he is getting blocked, he gets his hands on the ball to deflect passes.

Well, the scoreboard did say Washington 27 Dallas 6

And Tony Romo was still in the game when the scoreboard said Washington 20 Dallas 3

So I think it worked out quite well post game :)

Wow!!!

The Skins have been reduced to bragging about a game that didnt mean JACK to the Boyz. That is like bragging about winning a preseason game!!!

Yall must be so proud to beat Dallas in a game that didnt count for jack, did yall make a nice sign to put outside your stadium to commemerate the event for all Skins fans in the future to enjoy?

Enjoy being the only NFC East team to not make the playoffs this year losers:laugh2:

Being on a vastly inferior team give defensive players a tremendous advantage when it comes to putting up stats. I'll give you that Taylor is much better in coverage, and perhaps even pass rushing still...but to say he can't sniff Taylor's jock is foolish. The simple fact that Ellis isn't a three down player and Taylor isn't should make his stats look even better.

Ellis is far better against the run.

They're about equal at pass rushing at this stage.

Taylor is better in coverage.

...and for this team, Ellis is a far better match. If you haven't noticed...Ellis IS a force on this team. I wouldn't trade up even. Although both of them are drama queens whose career's are dwindling...quickly.

And Taylor has always been blessed with playing the weak-side end position where tackles and sacks were more of a "gimmee" than any other position along the defensive line.

Ellis on the other hand has always played on the strong-side, where he faced constant double-teaming at the point of attack. And even though he was put in the worst of the two defensive end spots for tackles & sacks he still managed to lead the Cowboys in sacks for several seasons.

Now that Jason Taylor has had to play the strong-side of the defensive line he's been getting whipped like a rag-doll.

Just make sure Romo doesn't throw those redzone INT's, and you will probably be right.

Hopefully we keep pace going into the 4th

Doesnt matter, Romo can thorow red zone picks all day and we would still beat you guys by double digits.

A Skin fan talking trash after almost getting beat on their own feild by the sorry arse Cardinals is almost too much. I can barely even keep a straight face while typing this:lmao:

Greg Ellis never put up stats when he played on vastly inferior defensive teams. Jason Taylor has done it consistently, thorughout his career. He had more tackles than Greg Ellis last year, twenty more, which obviously means he was playing better against the run as well. Jason Taylor has played one more year than Greg Ellis, and has close to 90 more tackles than him. Jason Taylor wasn't making tackles primarily in pass defense.

Ellis is far better against the run.

They're about equal at pass rushing at this stage.

I dispute both assertions...

Taylor is better in coverage.

Jason Taylor would be a REAL force on this team...

Jason Taylor was horrific his last season in Miami. Let that be perfectly clear. But, he is still a very good pass rusher, like Bruce Smith at the end of his career.

Lmao....more tackles means he plays the run better? you've GOT to be kidding me. This conversation should be ended right there.

Well, if I was going to sign a player to play on a team four year ago, I'd be signing Taylor.

If I wanted to sign one to play next week. I'll take Ellis.

No, not true. Greg Ellis was playing the RDE for 3 years. In 1998, and 1999 and 2005, when Greg Ellis was playing the weak-side, he had 3, 7.5 and 8 sacks. In 2005, at RDE, with Ware playing by his side, he had a whopping 25 tackles in 13 games.

Like I said, Greg Ellis couldn't sniff Jason Taylor's jock. Plus, no team was effectively putting Jason Taylor in one-on-one situations. Last year, he played a 3-4 and was moving all around the place, and he put better overall numbers than Greg Ellis. He was there only defensive player.

And Jason Taylor has been playing with a brace on his knee.. He had 1 Qb pressure, 3 passes deflected, and one tackle in the game. Like I said, Jason Taylor on Dallas would be better than Greg Ellis...

The point is....

Considering they both play right by the line, I'm sure that the majority of their tackles were on running plays, and not in coverage. So tell me, if Jason Taylor is tackling more in the run, than how do you think Greg Ellis is better in the run than Jason Taylor?

As I said before:

Jason Taylor wasn't making tackles primarily in pass defense.

And he surely wasn't running down backs from behind, and neither was Greg Ellis. What basis do you claim that Greg Ellis is better in run support than Jason Taylor?

Jason Taylor played in the AFC East his whole career. If he had played in the NFC East his whole career as Ellis has done, he would likely be dead by now.

Think about it, he hardly ever got injured when playing for 10+ years in Miami, and this year, he is breaking down faster than a Yugo.

IOW, he is a *****. :laugh2:

BTW, Jason Taylor wasn't drafted in the 1st round, like Greg Ellis... He also went to a smaller school...

And how is he a drama queen, considering he won the 2007 NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year...

Well I start by watching games....and in said games (particularly the most recent games) I've seen JT constantly pushed off the ball. He's completely overmatched against the run. Ellis, on the other hand isn't.

I'll take two tackles that allow four yards over three tackles that allow 11 all day.

It's obvious to everyone that's watched both players lately....even most skins fans.

Just like Superpunk said, Jason Taylor was horrible last year. No wonder the Dolphins wanted to dump his twinkle-toe rear-end.

And he's sucked so far this year.

Taylor has gotten beaten up this year at strong-side DE. He just isn't big or strong enough for the position.

Your argument is reaching depths of ineptitude I'm not comfortable with.
