He has a point, this thread is a bunch of reactionary, self-loathing women longing to be Eagles fans.

It really belongs elsewhere at this point.

Here's another point. Censorship. This is a lively, timely thread discussion that would suffer if it were moved elsewhere. Less people would see it and less would be talking about it. What's happening with the Eagles very much affects the Cowboys. Now and later on.

Again, the threads are clearly marked. If people aren't interested in talking about it, it can easily be avoided.

Eagles on already on pace for nearly 2100 yards rushing (1034 after 8 games) as it is.

I don't see how Ajayi is going to change the equation much.

He’s a streaky runner with poor vision.

Although I think our FO free agency decisions suck, this isn’t a game changing trade by any means.

He gives them a better workhorse back for the stretch run than Blount. Once the weather starts being a factor, they will have to run more and Ajayi is a better back.

Who cares? The dolphins have been trying to rid themselves of that clown since they drafted him. Hilarious people are acting like they just traded for Leveon Bell.

They are closer than we are though, right?

Yes they are, but so were we last year how did that turn out? Anything can happen long season yet and you can't just give them a free ticket into the Super Bowl just yet.

Personally, I wouldn't touch Ajayi with a ten-foot pole. But then, I wouldn't touch Torrey Smith either, because he's terrible. Having Jeffery on a one-year deal is pretty nice, but he's been nothing special. The Eagles' best offensive players this year have been their home-grown guys: Wentz, Ertz, Agholor. Well, Blount too, I guess. Maybe Ajayi will look like a beast on a consistent basis over there, but somehow I doubt it.

And the Eagles are without their 2nd and 3rd round picks in the draft next year. I definitely wouldn't like for us to be in that position, our history with 2nd-rounders notwithstanding.

As far as handing the Eagles the division after week 8, stop looking at team records at a point in time and look at the schedule as a whole:
They've beaten the Commanders, the Giants, the 49ers and the Cardinals. We've beaten the Commanders, the Giants, the 49ers and the Cardinals.
They've beaten the Chargers and their NFCS opponent (CAR). We haven't played those games yet (we get ATL, but they don't look so hot).
We lost to the Rams. They still have to play them, on the road.

They lost to the Chiefs. We get them this week. We lost to DEN. They get them this week.

All in all, if we manage to beat KC and PHI beats DEN, we're effectively tied with them, based on common opponents so far. They have a very likely one-game edge, because we lost to our NFCN opponent (GB) and they should beat theirs (CHI). I'm definitely not handing them a victory over the Rams yet.

Are they the favorites to take the division? Sure. But it's a loooong way from determined.

In times like these I reflect on that one saying from old uncle mickey spags......"if he's so good, then why'd they get rid of him"

There's another saying: you're either competing or you're rebuilding. The Eagles are competing, the Dolphins aren't. So if the rumors that the Dolphins think his knee is no good are true, the trade could make perfect sense for both teams: the Eagles get help for when they're competing (now), the Dolphins get help for when they're competing (later).

Of course, I don't think much of Ajayi even for now, but the Eagles obviously feel differently.

That's what I was thinking. Eagles are going for it all this year and need immediate help.
