Jay Ratliff, its my fault on eagles running against us at halftime with wade!

Now this is the mark of the team leadership growing. Wade Phillips said in his press conference today that Jay Ratliff told him at halftime its my fault they are running on us in the first half. Wade said, jay, no its not your fault. Wade said, Ratliff jumped at wade and said loudly, its my fault, i will get it corrected. Sure enough jay did some things differently in 2nd half and eagles didnt run on us as much in 2nd half.

thought worth mentioning, that leaders on this team are stepping up and accepting accountablity on the team, brooking, bradie, wade, witten, romo, and now jay etc.

:laugh2: cupcake :laugh2:

Accountability much, Wade?

Maybe Rat was wrong and it wasnt his fault, but if it was, Wade needs to keep the blanky and his own breast milk bottle in his pocket.

Did he plant a smooch on his forehead to?

:laugh2:

I missed that in the original post... what a freakin pushover

This almost brings a tear to my eye. It's been so long since we've seen players take accountability or take ownership of the team. I'm seeing that more and more each week. Whether it's Jay Ratliff, or Witten, Brooking, or even Romo saying this team will not be divided. We are finally seeing leaders being formed on this team.

Well the running game was more effective when they ran directly between Ratliff and Spears gaps. Which is right where B.James is supposed to be.

However on pass defense, has anyone noticed the huge pocket we give up right in the middle? all of our players do outside moves or slant outside. Happened several times last night.

what are you talking about?

Jay Ratliff is a self-centered ***** and yes, he is a ME ME ME player

it's all "MY" fault, "I" am the reason why we're doing bad and "I" am going to correct it

/sarcasm

I love Jay Ratliff with a passion, stopping short of asking him to marry me

Well, if you're not going to do it...:D

Ratliff Always Intense, Even To Wade

One of the best defensive players of the game Sunday night was once again Jay Ratliff, who has arguably been the unit’s best player thorugh the first half of the season. Ratliff had two sacks against the Eagles, but also was stellar against the run, especially in the second half.
Wade Phillips told the media a story from halftime of Sunday’s game when Ratliff was overly hard on himself for his run-stopping performance in the first half.
“At halftime, we came in and he says, ‘My fault on the running game,’” Phillips recalled about Ratliff. “And I said, ‘No it isn’t your fault.’ He jumps back at me and said ‘ITS MY FAULT’ I said, ‘Ok it’s your fault.’ But he said he would get it corrected. And sure enough they had 16 yards rushing in the second half, so it wasn’t all his fault, he played some things different second half than he did in first half.”

Love the Rat. If this team goes anywhere in the post season it will be because of the defense.

Loved him as a player since he was shoved into starting. One of the few that used to pop on the old Cowboys forums to read.

‘No it isn’t your fault.’ He jumps back at me and said ‘ITS MY FAULT’ I said, ‘Ok it’s your fault." LOL. Damn Rawr ratliff is a beast

well i like the way players are being accoutable, way wade is challenging players sometimes like he told the offensive line all you have to do is get 2 first downs, way brooking, ratliff, witten, barber are all stepping up and becoming leaders on this team

Is Ratliff the best 7th round draft pick in Cowboys history?

He does have competition.

Leon Lett proved that he was one of the best defensive tackles in the 90s. Even though it was too bad that he ruined his legacy with the drug issues (and those bone-headed plays in SB27 and Thanksgiving 1993), remember this about Leon:

In all three Cowboys Super Bowl victories in the 90s, he made pivotal plays that turned the game in Dallas' direction. He stripped Thurman Thomas twice and stuffed the Steelers on that 4th and 1 in the 2nd half. He also stripped Favre in the 93 Divisional playoff.

Just some stuff to think about before annoiting Ratliff as the greatest 7th round draft pick in Cowboys history.

BTW: Make no mistake, I do love the Rattler! and hope he eventually dethrones Leon in my view.

super stuff, thanks

Absolutely one of my favorite players. Between him, Ware, and Brooking we have a great group of leaders on that defense.

Jay Ratliff is just flat out awesome.

best nose tackle in football--plays the run from sideline to sideline and rushes the passer--not just an overweight run stopping blob

Don't forget RW11's comment about himself just not playing well......

It is because Phillips doesn't make them tackle in practice!

That is true of most coaches these days. Not all, but most. It is a result of the salary cap in my opinion. You can only keep so many quality guys. An injury in practice can have a huge effect on the season. Not sure I like it, but it is what it is.
