Because not all tackles are created equal. Ideally once your LB makes contact, the player goes down. Jaylon has a habit of being dragged a few yards because he jumps on players. He also likes to get in on tackles where players are already going down. His numbers mean nothing. Empty calories.
:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2:Leading the NFL in tackles means NOTHING! :lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao::lmao::lmao:

He’ll still pander for some pro bowl votes at the end of the year. Just wait. He has zero shame when it comes to self promotion
He'll probably get some votes. The average NFL player and fan is still pretty ignorant. Football hasnt had it's Moneyball moment yet.

Just look at the poster above me.

I’m used to his (and a couple others) antics lol. But I agree with you!

As usual let’s dump on Jaylon. The defensive tackles get pushed back. LVE gets washed and no safety support. You wonder why Jaylon looks clueless, he covers for the bad safety play and the linebacker beside him.

When he got injured did he have a stroke at the same time or something? Where did his football intelligence go? He has no idea what happening out there. How in the hell was this guy ever a heralded LB? How in the hell did 2018 ever happen. Hes just terrible.

I had hopes that he would return to form when we switched coordinators but he's only gotten worse. Im positive the coaches see that and considering how this week has gone I believe his playing time is about to diminish.

Id love to believe these cuts/trades aren't only about cap savings but progress stoppers. Of this team has any chance of change guys like Jaylon need to sit. Does he watch film at all???

Yeah but if you join a fantasy league that does IDP he is phenomenal. Lol that's about as much as his tackles count for.

The people blindly defending Jaylon Smith should tell you who you need to put on the ignore list. They are blind fans, they are not here for any quality discussions, they want the team fluffed up and everything sugarcoated.
its amazing how many people apparently can't see the obvious. its one thing to have discussions about things that still up for debate but that ship ran aground long ago as it regards Jaylon.

Jaylon isn't the only one who should go. There are 4 or 5 big contract guys who should be on the block or escorted out of the building starting with Zeke "greasy hands" Elliot.

The tackles don’t mean “nothing”. They might not be highly indicative of good LB’er play, sure, but at a minimum it shows he’s not just dogging it out there. That’s something.

We have an all time worst defense of which he's in the middle. Yes, it means less than nothing

it means that he leads the NFL in tackles.

He also has 400+ tackles in 45 starts.

Plus he has that pro bowl....

after getting his knee reconstructed.
