Both of these players are really making their front offices look smart for taking them.

Jack really turned the corner when there were some whispers he may be a bust. He was extremely productive in that defenses dismantling of Houston.

Considering the volume of snaps played, Jaylons production wasnt far off Jacks. He definitely showed ability to be a catalytic MLB in our defense.

These two may be forever linked as both players were considered top 10 and even 5 picks in 2016 but slipped due to questions of there future. Its starting to look like both the Cowboys and Jaguars are going to reap the benefits of landing top 10 talents in the 2nd round

Agreed
Let me say this
If both Jaylon and Jack turn out to be who they were projected to be, I'll take Jaylon every time

Ive always thought Jaylon was a better fit. I questioned Jack somewhat in our scheme. Not that he wouldnt have produced but you waste some of his abilities and he isnt as natural a pure side to sideline LB that Smith is. Ive always though Jack would be best used in a hybrid style defense where they could line him up all over the field

I still would have preferred Jack - I just think he came with something you often don't see in a LB, especially in terms of coverage.

But we should be fine with Smith

Jack had a pretty miserable season last year. He could barely get on the field and there is a reason people questioned if he was a bust.

1 game does not close this question.

Jaylon hasn't looked bad while on the field at any point and this is essential his rookie year.

Give me Jaylon and it's not even close.

I'm WAY more pissed TJ isn't a Cowboy...

Thats a big miss

I did not see the one sack but the one I did see was just a run around play, not some great pass rush move. The int was nice but we did not get a LB

Guess I brought Jack up in the Jaylon thread, so here we go.

Hindsight is always 20/20 and either way both are playing now. Even if Jack was terrible last season, Jaylon didn't even play at all.

So it all comes down to right now, and I figure both will be linked.....mostly by Cowboy and Jaguar fans really. I would take a healthy Jaylon over Jack, but honestly we don't know yet if or when Jaylon will ever be 100%. We can hope and pray, but we really don't know for sure.......he could never heal completely. Jack is different, he is what he is right now, and whether his long term won't work out, we don't know either.

All we can do is wait and see on both really, but I do like Jaylon's upside more if he actually gets to 100%.

If I remember correctly, apparently Jack long term health was in question while Jaylon short term was in question. Considering both are now on the field, I see both progressing in the next 3-4 years, but see Jack declining faster than Jaylon. Both were good picks at where they were selected and the risk involved.

Thread really isnt Smith VS Jack.

Its more crediting the Cowboys and Jags for having the balls to make those gambles

I agree they both took gambles and we will see how they turn out.

When you make a thread with both of their names in the title, you should expect to see them compared though.....and not all this off topic talk of TJ and Taco (being compared).
