I agree they both took gambles and we will see how they turn out.

When you make a thread with both of their names in the title, you should expect to see them compared though.....and not all this off topic talk of TJ and Taco (being compared).
Comparisons are nevee really a bad thing. Rueage at this point is fairly pointless though

I think Smith was always graded above Jack and from what I understand the long term future of Jack will always be a question. Whereas Jaylon can only get better from a health stand point.

I just wish Smith was playing weakside linebacker instead of middle.

I think that's his ideal position. Lee is 31, so how much longer do you have with him? Smith, if he stays healthy and progresses, will eventually end up at WILL imo.

Taco and Jaylon are Cowboys. Not TJ and Jack. No amount of whining and crying will change that fact.

I cheer for the Cowboys. Not who may have been Cowboys.
You're right amount no whining and crying will change that fact......but there will still be many here who will certainly try!

Guess I brought Jack up in the Jaylon thread, so here we go.

Hindsight is always 20/20 and either way both are playing now. Even if Jack was terrible last season, Jaylon didn't even play at all.

So it all comes down to right now, and I figure both will be linked.....mostly by Cowboy and Jaguar fans really. I would take a healthy Jaylon over Jack, but honestly we don't know yet if or when Jaylon will ever be 100%. We can hope and pray, but we really don't know for sure.......he could never heal completely. Jack is different, he is what he is right now, and whether his long term won't work out, we don't know either.

All we can do is wait and see on both really, but I do like Jaylon's upside more if he actually gets to 100%.

Crazy thing is that Cowboys could of had both. Cowboys planned all along to nab a pass rusher then trade up for Jaylon. Instead of pass rusher they could have taken Jack. It would have cost Cowboys Tapper and/or player/future pick however.

Jack had a pretty miserable season last year. He could barely get on the field and there is a reason people questioned if he was a bust.

1 game does not close this question.

Jaylon hasn't looked bad while on the field at any point and this is essential his rookie year.

Give me Jaylon and it's not even close.
Jack had more tackles last season than Smith did. Kind of dumb to put him down, when our pick was on ice the whole year.

What's kind of dumb is your comprehension.
Kyle Wilber had more tackles than Smith did last year also. I guess by your dullard logic he must be better than Smith.

Myles Jack had 1.5 tackles per game last year. Thems the facts. Deal with it.

Last night made one thing clear.

Jaylon Smith is on a different level athletically than the other 99% of the NFL.

Jack vs. Jaylon is nothing.

Giants fans and media are ruing Eli Apple (#10 overall) against Anthony Brown (6th round).

Imagine the disaster on this site would be if we had Apple and they had Brown.

Jaylon is fine

Both of these players are really making their front offices look smart for taking them.

Jack really turned the corner when there were some whispers he may be a bust. He was extremely productive in that defenses dismantling of Houston.

Considering the volume of snaps played, Jaylons production wasnt far off Jacks. He definitely showed ability to be a catalytic MLB in our defense.

These two may be forever linked as both players were considered top 10 and even 5 picks in 2016 but slipped due to questions of there future. Its starting to look like both the Cowboys and Jaguars are going to reap the benefits of landing top 10 talents in the 2nd round

C'mon you should know better. Myles Jack must suck. Any player being compared to a Cowboy player by default must suck, so says the masses.

Did Taco even get close enough to smell Eli last night?
