It is strange. I wonder if people in the front office put the media up to this to convince Jerry to let him go. I mean let’s be honest most of the Cowboys players and coaches did not live up to their contracts.
Jerry is not listening to the media or fans. Jaylon ain't going no where because he is a good player that even under bad coaching has shown that he can be successful. There are not many players on our defense that can make that claim.

The media strikes again. We really need them to tell us Jaylon Smith can't take on a block or shed one. lol But he'll rack up tackles 10 yards downfield. People act like they never saw a real MLB before, because this ain't it. He's terrible!

That's not true. Look at the cap savings if you designate Jaylon Smith as a post June 1st cut. We can definitely dump him this offseason, just not until June or later.
That money wouldn't be available or count until June 2nd.
So he'd count in full against your cap until then.

OR what they almost certainly WILL do is restructure him down by handing him 6M the first day of the league year and lower his cap hit to about 4M dollars.
