The Cowboys couldn’t pull off a win on Sunday against the in-state rival Texans, but it’s not all doom and gloom Cowboys fans because there is a playmaker stepping up on defense that looks like a cornerstone to build around. That’s linebacker
Jaylon Smith.
In a game where there was not a lot to get excited about as a Cowboy fan, you have to give it up to
Jaylon Smith. The dude had a heck of a game. The defense once again played well enough for the win, as Smith led the Cowboys in tackles with 12 against Houston. He was all over the field...
...Last year Smith played all 16 games and was okay. He got better as the season wore on. This year he is all the way back from the knee injury and his athleticism on the field is obvious.
Smith is the Cowboys leading tackler with 41 on the year while also chipping in with 3 sacks. He was outstanding rushing the passer at Notre Dame and that has transitioned to his play in the pros. Smith is now on pace for over 120 tackles and 9 sacks.
