Monster paycheck also. How many years left in his rookie deal? Bet you once his agent gets involved there won’t be a home town discount. Or a JJ discount for taking a chance on him with a 2nd round pick.

Looks like next year is his last. Gave him 3 million his first year and he didn’t play. Made 5 million so far.
Team got an extra year because of the injury, he is still under contract for 2 seasons after this one!

Have you actually looked at the cap situation or just making assumptions?

Be have a lot of cap space coming up.
Haven’t ran cap numbers, not my strong suit. But paying a top DE, top CB, top LB. Is he going to actually pay Dak. I can see us using 5th year option on Elliot. I guess we could tag 1.

Prescott is going to get lowballed unless he plays like he's on fire for the rest of the season.

You think we are gonna draft a new one. Trade our draft to move up for Hewbert?
Herbert can't progress past his 1st read and scouts are beginning to compare him to Ryan Tannehill. Think I'd rather take a flyer on Grier or Lock!

He better be low balled. And actually not sure I would offer a contract until after next year. Fire at least Linehan and bring in a new OC and playbook. See if that helps him cause right now it’s ugly. I almost hate watching any tape. It’s not the accuracy to me. It’s the missing WR running free. It happens to all teams and qbs but not as many times in one game as Dak. He isn’t seeing them. Maybe not enough time or feeling pressure that’s not there.

Are you sure I saw him being FA in 2020. I hope your right that would help.
Way I understood it they get an extra season because his injury which was for the season, didn't occur while on the team. Same as they got an extra season for the Gregory suspension!

Snake Lee signed an incentive laden contract because the team knew he couldnt stay healthy. Jaylon has been out there busting his *** getting better, on the field, every week. Why should he give dumb and dumber any sort of a discount? Sick of you soft shoe company men always wanting certain guys to take discounts or play on a franchise tag instead of giving them what they've earned.
Exactly where did I say he should give a discount?

Little fella gets angry when he is corrected. Run along now snowflake.

You're the reason I have 6 posts in 13 years, discount the facts and typical keyboard warrior.

The post I was responding to was about that. Maybe you should have stayed in the shadows like you've been doing the last 15 years clown.

Hmmm...I must have misread the part about you discussing Lee.

But with all the idiotic names you put in front of Lee, I could be mistaken...or you don't like when you don't have a creditable response.

You have some relation to Snake? You sure are awfully chirpy about this.

That would be sweet.

Jaylon Smith is on pace for a Monster year
http://profootballtalkline.com/nfl/...lon-smith-is-on-pace-for-a-monster-year.html/

The Cowboys couldn’t pull off a win on Sunday against the in-state rival Texans, but it’s not all doom and gloom Cowboys fans because there is a playmaker stepping up on defense that looks like a cornerstone to build around. That’s linebacker Jaylon Smith.

In a game where there was not a lot to get excited about as a Cowboy fan, you have to give it up to Jaylon Smith. The dude had a heck of a game. The defense once again played well enough for the win, as Smith led the Cowboys in tackles with 12 against Houston. He was all over the field...

...Last year Smith played all 16 games and was okay. He got better as the season wore on. This year he is all the way back from the knee injury and his athleticism on the field is obvious.

Smith is the Cowboys leading tackler with 41 on the year while also chipping in with 3 sacks. He was outstanding rushing the passer at Notre Dame and that has transitioned to his play in the pros. Smith is now on pace for over 120 tackles and 9 sacks.

Wait I thought he was supposed to suck?

I agree on Zeke
I don’t think they give him a second deal
5th is a given then if he’s still really productive they could tag him a year

It was a major chance to take with a high 2nd round pick, especially considering there were many very good players sitting there that could have helped immediately!
