RELEASED Jaylon Smith released

Whomever takes over better be a improvement. Everyone is going to be watching him. Jaylon was likely a leader in the locker room and will be missed. But lots of youth here now. His money was guaranteed this year anyways. So there maybe something else going on.
This is Addition by Subtraction . . . He was a "Leader" of a Toxic Culture . . . His inflated Ego and players like him are the Problem in Dallas.

The lights are too bright and you can become ruined if you are a Flake

Sounds to me like someone convinced Jerry that winning is more fun then keeping his investments on the field. I like this, not someone losing their job even though he was way overpaid and not performing well, but shows the team is more committed to winning then making Jerry's bad signings pay off someday. If these overpaid vets can't perform, bring in the hungry new kids. Brutal ? Maybe, but that is life and is how many peoples jobs are, they just don't get paid a kings ransom every year like Jaylon did.

Is LVE the 4th best LB on the team?

LVE is playing better than J. Smith (LVE 18 tackles 1 sack 2 TFL's 1 QB hit vs. Smith's 18 tackles) and his contract is such that he is no threat to be cut, in addition to playing his last year of his contract.

As far as ranking LVE 4th, obviously Parsons is #1 and with Neal out and Gregory playing DE it gets muddled but personally speaking I hope LVE comes back on an affordable contract. That said, Quinn's defense is playing more nickel packages and he is utilizing safeties in LB roles thereby making the traditional LB such as LVE less important.

Ehhh it’s not like Smith lost his job and went broke. He’s made 31 million in his career (not including his glasses business) and a degree from Notre Dame. He’s also due 7.2 million alone this season. He will get picked up this or next week for sure.

We were unable to cut him during the off-season as he had wrist surgery. With Neal back and Cox ready to go, it’s likely the first week they were able to do so.

It’s the same thing we do when any player is released and we all ask “should we sign him?”

They see former pro bowler who made a second contract

Which is important to remember in the future when we're clamoring to sign some dude that got cut. Quality players don't get unexpectedly let go. Whoever signs Smith will learn this lesson very quickly.

There's a new sheriff in town.

A fat new sheriff.

They are saving the money for something. There is a long list of players that there contract is up after this season.

It’s what winning cultures do. They hold people accountable. At least we do it on the players’ side anyway.

That was a yes or no question. Rephrasing the Question.....What rank would you have LVE, as LB?

Honestly, I don’t see how a cheerleader being cut will negatively impact this team at all.
Exactly . . . He can still come to the Game and Cheer . . D Law can hold Him a seat up in the stands

(PS . . Why is D Law in the stands:huh: . . . I bet next week #90 is on the sidelines)

Yep, you have to watch the bad (as well as the good).....I think some commentators and fans just watch the highlight reels.

Neal and LVE are UFA after the season.

maybe Neal stays. There is a connection to DQ.

Dallas is still paying for Jaylon in 2022.

there is a dead cap hit of 6 mill.

per spotrac.

this is why we can’t have nice things .
