There are some pieces to the puzzle missing for those that want to declare him completely ready to compete at a high level.

1. Jerry alluded to extra fatigue that Jaylon experiences related to his injury. What's that about? Jaylon is a work-out warrior...this is something different than just cardio condition. The fatigue seemed linked to the effort to compensate for his foot--something like that, I don't recall.

2. The Cowboys staff are still being exceptionally careful with him. He doesn't practice with the team at all on many days.

I'm cautiously optimistic but still have reservations.

Meanwhile, Julian Edelman may have just blown his knee out.

That does not make sense to me. The only issue caused by the nerve is lifting the toes up. Pushing against an OL is using the opposite muscles and different nerves. Lifting his foot up would not protect his nerve related issue.
You gotta remember he injured his knee also, so Im sure he has to learn to trust pretty much his whole leg again. Its gonna take awhile...

It's been 20 months since the injury. The knee was declared whole near a year ago. I doubt the knee is an issue at all.

1. Muscles are fired by nerves. If the nerve group that activates a particular muscle group doesn't fire those muscles will weaken over time because they become dormant. They have devices that electrically stimulate the muscles to maintain strength but it's not the same as the body responding on its own. As Jaylon's nerve has healed he's been gaining that strength back but it's apparently not all there yet.
