I was of the assumption is only the nerve and there was no damage or separation from the muscle

without a nerve connection, those muscles do not move.
if they do not move, they generally atrophy just like someone confined to bed rest.
that would generally rehab to get those muscles back up shape.

The other players can be enabled too. All they have to do is:

1. Be a really good player.

2. Be willing to play for way below what your normal market value would be if you didn't skip voluntary OTA's.

3. Be willing to play on one year, prove-it contracts with a metric **** ton of safety clauses in it.

Problem is, I don't think any of the other players want to do that.
