If I'm in a Star Trek TV series, I want Picard as my captain.

If I'm in a Star Trek Movie, I want Kirk as my captain.

TV Show Picard and Movie Picard are two completely different characters.

Kirk is definitely more "cool" than Picard though.

This is true -- especially considering two A-wings on a strafing run disabled the bridge deflector shields on a super star destroyer, and then completely destroyed it by ramming the bridge.

The Empire must employ the worst engineers and ship designers in the known universe.

No, just among the world's worst scriptwriters.....

I would take Archer and Sisko over Janeway anyday. I could just never get into Voyager. Maybe I need to go back and rewatch it.
Janeway completely re-wrote the book on Borg strategies and she did it with practically zero support from Starfleet. Of course, it doesn't hurt that she had help from a Seven Of Nine either. :)

Just saying. She was in command years away from Federation space and got her crew safely home, while navigating through totally unknown hostile territory for seven long years. Not too dang shabby if I may say so myself.

[edit] If you want to catch one episode of Voyager which puts Janeway at the level of all the other captains, I would highly recommend anyone to watch the two-part Year Of Hell, which beings in the YouTube clip posted earlier in the thread. It has a fantastic finish which any fan of Kirk, Picard, Sisko or even Archer would enjoy.

Although I like the Janeway character--she's underrated and crassly under-appreciated by Star Trek fans--the show was lacking, in my opinion. I hated what it did to the Borg.

What did the show do to the Borg?
