Jeremiah on the TE class

Valid points. But at least Schultz gets you 60+ catches, 800 yards and a handful of TDs. I don't want to spend the cap on Schultz either. But it may be what is needed.

Jarwin is unproven and hasn't played much in two seasons. McKeon is unproven, Sprinkle is a blocker only. Would be a hell of a task for a rookie TE to come in and dominate.

If I’m betting, I would wager good money Jarwin could put up the same numbers if not more than Schultz.

Jarwin’s durability is a legit question but just looking at it in a vacuum.

Just to throw some numbers around, if I can resign Schultz for $12M AAV or Randy Gregory for $15M AAV, I am throwing every cent of that money at Gregory.

Schultz is a decent player, but his age and volume stats will earn him a contract much higher than his talent warrants IMO.

Not me. The passing game is too important. In a starter, we need a receiving TE who just isn't a liability blocking.

100% in fact, that's a big reason why I don't prioritize Schultz. If you're going to be that inconsistent/poor as a blocker you need to bring something dynamic to the table as a receiver. Schultz have that.

Lmao no one is finding a starter in the 4th-5th round this draft. I mean could someone shock into being that, sure but if they were thought of as starting grade they would have been drafted in the first 3 rounds- more likely 2 and 3 as there probably won't be one taken in the 1st this year.
