So we are willing to have the sun take away plays from our playbook at certain times of a game because we love the look of sunlight pouring in on the eyes of our players?

It does the same for opposing teams. My issue is that it's our home field and we have coaches who don't take it into account. Because of that I'd prefer curtains as well. I'm only making the point it works both ways and we should be better with it.

Jerry is loathe to admit a mistake. You can see it in all aspects of how he runs the team. Look at all the players he's held onto too long even though it was clear it was time to cut bait. He's run the football operations for 20+ years and has three playoff wins to show for it over that time. He knows he needs a GM, but he can't admit he's failed.

So no one should be surprised that Jerry won't admit how ****** stupid this is.

Can't the league make him do something about it?
How could the league prohibit a stadium that only allows sun in at certain times and not prohibit stadiums that allow the sun in at all times?

It is a huge disadvantage. . . Cowboys play 8-9 games at home . . . Other teams play 1 or no games there

Do the Math

since the 90's, Jerry basks in being tagged "maverick owner Jerry Jones". And doesn't care what anyone, fans, media, or the League say about his style or decisions. Doing it Jerry's way, the GM, owner, personnel, coaching guru, football stayjum expert.

I'm sorry. I know we're supposed to have hive mind about this issue, but I have to admit, I like the sun and the way it looks. It sucks for both teams. That's sports.

The math is that in every one of those 8-9 home games the opponent has the same issue to deal with.

That doesn't mean Jerry shouldn't fix the issue, but it's not giving opponents an edge. If anything, it could give the Cowboys an edge because they should be more used to it, therefore should be more able to plan around it.

The GM whose teams haven’t won a road playoff game since Jimmy left.

What Jerry is saying is true - both teams do have to deal with it. That still doesn't mean there is a good purpose for it.
I remember the giants coach, the one after Coughlin, said he studied the field, and designed plays around it. I don't think we have coaches smart enough to do that.

Watching our players (like Michael Gallup last Sat or Cedric Wilson last Jan in the playoffs) get blinded by the sun trying to catch a football when there are curtains available is just insane. I’ve watched several college and HS games at AT&T where those curtains ARE used so the sun is not a factor in games.

I’m hard pressed to think of another sports owner or executive with this kind of stubborn stupidity, who literally cares more about visual aesthetics than winning. It’s maddening.

AND…the multi-million dollar upgrades JJ is paying for aren’t designed to fix this.

what bothered me more was that Zeke or Pollard was completely open on the right side of the field where the sun was shaded. It was an easy 6 points but obviously Dak didn’t see it. Watch that play again and you’ll see that the RB in the flat had nobody within ten yards of him.

If you mean att versus outdoors....your eyes adjust to certain light conditions. Outdoors is natural sunlight all around....yes....that can land in your....conditioned eyes.
At att...wevw got indoor lighting except a giant window blasting nuclear fire through the hole.

Its dumb.

Open Air as in Buffalo, KC, Jets, Giants, Chicago, Baltimore etc…
Those stadiums’ fields are built North-South as prescribed by any architect when building a stadium. Those players in Buffalo, KC, Chicago, etc don’t have to stare into direct sunlight because the fields don’t run East-West. It’s a problem we could’ve avoided during construction.
