Part of the problem there, other than not having a clue about the game these days, is that he needs to hire guys that are willing to be pushed around and accept that they aren’t going to be THEE guy.

Any Coach worth their salt knows that THEY need to run the team and command the most respect…..not the damn owner who wants to be buddies with players which allows them to blow off the coaches.

I’m never forgiving Lawrence for telling young players that no matter how true it was and still is.

It’s dysfunction, no other sports team is run that way, and everyone wonders why it doesn’t work. I have NO doubt that next year we find out yet again that it still doesn’t work.
And that's the thing, we have gone through the hard-nosed coaches (Parcells), the puppets (Garrett), and the "player coaches" (McCarthy). There's one constant that remains.

I would say a combination. I'd say the defence played a big role, as did Dak's poor play. The defence couldn't stop a nosebleed, so that makes things difficult. This can force an offense to have to start pressing knowing that they aren't likely to get a stop in their favour. That said, i think Dak exacerbated it with his poor decisions. I also think it's a problem with the way the team was constructed. This team was built to play with a lead. The team didn't do well when it had to play from behind. So, I'd say it's a combo of poor team construction, poor defencive play, and Dak not playing well.
Bottom line on Dak, he has the power to make on the field calls. To repeat lack of reading and relying on unseen locations, then repeating for failure is lack of accountability and poor application by the play calling.

The failure on the defensive side was the biggest loser. As it usually is against any tough offense.

It amazes me that after 28 years, 7 head coaches, 22 starting QB's, and 1GM that there are still people defending that 1 GM at all costs.
100%!--All over the damn board "Its this player" its "That player" its the coach!!!! look we have had 2 SB winning Coaches come in, HOF players play the games what was considered THE BEST oline for multiple seasons..and yet there are still people here who can not see the GLARING issue with this franchise which happens to be the only conatsant over the last 28 years...its willfull ignorance at this point.

Well, maybe they should bring in more players from that level. Seems to work. But they need to be out there getting players, especially when we know where the glaring weaknesses are. If the answer from them is to say, oh well, not enough to fix it, then rebuild the team or sell it. The expectation should be to build a team that has no glaring weaknesses (there will be weaknesses, but it shouldn't be glaringly obvious). That's the kind of team that can win a SB.
....and not be afraid to go to smaller school's campus......there's a guy or two out there......country strong and fast. There is.

Well, yeah, that's why I was saying his poor decision making. On the two picks, he had someone open that he didn't see. Tbf, the first one should have been PI on Green Bay, but, as I watched DO on ESPN break it down, he had I think it was Ferguson open on a corner route. On the triple slants that resulted in the pick 6, Ferguson was again open. I understand that getting Lamb the ball was important, but we waited until it was too late to realise the answer was get Ferguson the ball. So yes, I put that on Dak entirely.

As for the defence, I think it's a combination of poor playcalling and poor construction, for the reasons that I stated. If this team was constructed to be more physical with less emphasis on playing from the front, then maybe they can stop the run and get a few more stops.

Exactly, or is more physical. The speed is good, but we also need physicality.

Jerry and Stephen are the reason we are eliminated. No, not for the the reasons you think, although they are valid and can be included. No, where the real problem is that their attitude for the team in the offseason and during the trade deadline is the problem. Their "we like our guys" attitude will not win us a SB. You cannot win a SB on draft picks alone. You must have quality free agents being brought in.

Think about the weaknesses that we knew going into this season that we had. We had questions about our running game and questions about our LB group. You know who didn't have those questions? Jerry and Stephen! How do I know this? Because they didn't use free agency to fix these glaring issues, and, wouldn't you know it, when we played teams that require you to run it on them and stop the run, we got blown out. Safeties are not linebackers! Linebackers are not safeties! Get that through your thick heads, Stephen and Jerry!

Also, I'm irritated because, when you look at the current contenders, they didn't just sit back and like their guys. When they saw a problem, they found ways to fix it. They were proactive. The Cowboys may as well have kept their HQ at Valley Ranch in Irving if they're going to be this inactive in free agency. There were players to be had. Yet, when free agency started, Jerry just wanted to be in his yacht. If he wants to be on his yacht so badly, then why not sell the team, move to Key West, and be yacht brothers with Jimmy? We need FO people who are proactive when they see a problem that literally everyone is aware that we have.
As long as the money keeps rolling in JJ's idiot sons could careless about how this team performs. As for JJ, I was in seventh heaven when the TV camera got a shot of him turning a deathly white when he realized that HIS team had laid another egg in the 1st rd of playoff game. I've never seen any owner show that much emotion in their luxury box, it was priceless, there was nowhere for him to hide!

As you might tell from my username I’m Irish (although live in England) and originally from the province of Leinster, and support Leinster Rugby one of the best club sides in Europe if not the world, so I get my winning fix from them.

Ah, very nice! I don't get to watch rugby much but I enjoy it when I do. I follow the PL quite closely though.

The issues in this organization are bigger than the QB. Yea Dak sucks and isn't good enough but this is a systemic issue. No QB was winning that game.
People are going to be disappointed. I'm done with Dak and want him gone but it isn't going to change anything. We lost with Romo. We lost with Dak and we'll lose with the next guy. There are a lot of losers on this team besides the QB and it starts with Jerry and Stephen. I don't know what it will take to make people realize what the real problem with this team is. Maybe 30 more years of failure?
