There's a saying if you can't live on $1,000 dollars a week you can't live on $10,000 a week. It's not the money it's a mindset. I think the concern for Dez is legitimate and I would hope Dez seeks help to manage his finances.

I'm no Gronk fan and I agree is a lug head - but that fool has not touched one nickel of his 16.3 million he's earned since coming into the league.
Surprised? So am I.

Yeah I saw that. Based on that sort of prudence hard to call the guy a lug head.

I'm in the investment business. How exactly are you going to do that?

That Is about a 31% annual rate of return (compounded annually) if he didn't spend any of it and there were no taxes involved.

3$77.22
4$101.16

If someone is financially assisting Dez within the organization, we've got a cap violation on our hands

Obviously, she is not paying the bills with her money.

He probably gave her his bank login info and she made payments from his bank account.

I have to give Jerry great kudos here. He has if nothing else, been completely proactive at helping his players with ANY personal problems they might possess. He truely loves his players, despite having to be realistic with him.

Don't you hate a Rat who chooses against his team and our heart?

I heard on the radio also that they have been giving Dez loans/advances for a while now. Hence the worrisome of giving him the fat contract.

Between Dez and Jerry Jr. Jerry might be getting strapped again!!

There are no insiders. This is a way of trying to throw out an insulting comment and hide behind "sources" and "insiders". Jerry and Stephen Jones would never say anything bad about Dez to some bottom feeding reporter. How do YOU know that Jerry and Stephen Jones have these concerns? Because you choose to believe the media's baseless speculation. It fits into your own bias about Dez for whatever reason. Remember how the media told you all last year that Dallas was nervous giving Dez a contract that didn't have a babysitting clause? Jerry and Stephen go to Roc Nation during negotiations and somehow the media knows they were meeting with Jayz to talk about Dez needing a babysitter...totally baseless media speculation.

You need to realize that today's media is all about clicks and social media retweets. A story about nothing doesn't get the clicks. A story about Dez being a good father doesn't get retweeted. People love to read controversial topics. Any story where "insiders" or unnamed sources are used should be ignored and put into the proper category.

Regarding Dez getting help with financial responsibilities over the last few years....we don't know how true that even is. Dez didn't grow up in an environment where he had the parental guidance that Tony Romo had. He may not have been taught financial management and financial responsibility. This does not mean he is any less of a person than anyone else. It should never even be mentioned. Give the guy the benefit of the doubt. Every indication I have from Dez is that he is trying to be the best man and father that he can be. This is admirable considering the challenges he grew up with.

If you can't understand why I mentioned "the Gronk" when discussing how the media treats the two of them differently then I can't really help you understand it much better. Gronkowski is at a bar, party, frat boy style of vacation and party just about every other day. The media thinks it's cute. Dez is home with his family and training yet he gets negative stories written about him implying that he is an irresponsible street thug.

Jerry and Stephen were doing radio interviews. These were not private interviews by a reporter who then conveyed it to the public.

Jerry directly talked about his concerns with Dez and his off-field issues and the concept of him not spending all of the money. He did this all in regards to the things Jay-Z and Roc convinced him they would work to prevent from happening. Jerry repeated several times that Dez would actually listen to Jay-Z which made Jerry feel better about the situation.

Before these interviews this information did all come from media people, but in the interviews Jerry was saying it directly with no media between the audience and what he was saying.

Odd that you mention Gronk. He is known to only spend money he makes from endorsements and saves all of the money from his contract.

I know they gave him an advance back when he was in trouble for not paying for the 600K of jewelry that he had received.

Cute story but a bit far fetched. Dez has an agent - multiple ones in fact. He had until recently an advisor. If neither of those folks can provide staff to deal with this stuff then you've gotta wonder what he is paying for.

Even if the team helps players in this manner it is pretty absurd for Jerry's assistant to have that role. Even more ridiculous is how someone would witness this.

Depends on what you pay your agent to do
Some just negotiate your contract and you have others who manage your assets
Some have there agents pay their bills, manage their assets and such and they pay more for that
The money dez agent gets is just to deal with his contract where roc nation deals with other parts of his career such as endorcements, events and such
There is a menu of services an agent can provide depending on what you want to pay them
It's a very interesting business and some players have dozens of people handling different parts of their career some have just an agent to do their contract and they do the rest themselvez

So if the team is providing a service that players would otherwise have to pay an agent for, that would suggest the player is receiving extra compensation.

An 11 million dollar rookie deal over 4 years total and he spends 600k on jewelry. Great decision making there!

Having said that I would have probably done the same thing at that age, but it would have been on booze and broads!
