So much of this is just typical media speculation. The same media speculation that has been chasing Dez for some story that fit their agenda for 5 years. It's sad that Dez has been labelled by the media as a troubled immature low life when he hasn't done anything to deserve this.

To say insiders are worried about Dez running out of money in 3 years when he has been living nicely off of much less money for the last 5 years is just insulting.

Unfortunately media and fans will never leave him alone. The man is taking care of his children and his family. He is a father and provider. That oversized doofus in New England "the Gronk" is making a fool of himself every offseason while Dez is training and taking his life serious....

Funny. Bc I had a similar thought

Maybe dallas didn't want to get a deal done until the last minute to minimize the risk of Dez getting into trouble during this period before camp...

Hopefully there is stuff in his contract that if he screws up ( not being on time, get into trouble, etc) then he doesn't receive his money. At some point Dez can't be baby and needs to be responsible for himself. If the stuff is true about people making sure he is on time and paying his bills than the Cowboys are just enabling him which is doing more harm than good.

I don't think they
Mean assisting as in paying his bills for him but making sure they are getting paid by him
Financial advise nit giving him money

If his agent didn't provide that then it is a good thing Dez moved to Roc. You are getting a % - you've got an obligation

There's a saying if you can't live on $1,000 dollars a week you can't live on $10,000 a week. It's not the money it's a mindset. I think the concern for Dez is legitimate and I would hope Dez seeks help to manage his finances.

I'm no Gronk fan and I agree is a lug head - but that fool has not touched one nickel of his 16.3 million he's earned since coming into the league.
Surprised? So am I.

Look at what happened to Tyron Smith. He actually ended up having to get restraining orders against members of his own family. When you get those contracts, you attract people who try to part you from that money on an unprecedented scale.

The insiders are jerry Jones and Stephen Jones, Dez Bryant's employers have these concerns because they know him and who he hangs out with YOU don't. What does Gronk have to do with Dez Bryant's troubled past?

I do not worry about Dez whatsoever as a player, but from a financial standpoint, and his future financially when football is no longer his job or part of his life, I am petrified for him, quite frankly.

Depends on what you pay your agent to do
Some just negotiate your contract and you have others who manage your assets
Some have there agents pay their bills, manage their assets and such and they pay more for that
The money dez agent gets is just to deal with his contract where roc nation deals with other parts of his career such as endorcements, events and such
There is a menu of services an agent can provide depending on what you want to pay them
It's a very interesting business and some players have dozens of people handling different parts of their career some have just an agent to do their contract and they do the rest themselvez

There are no insiders. This is a way of trying to throw out an insulting comment and hide behind "sources" and "insiders". Jerry and Stephen Jones would never say anything bad about Dez to some bottom feeding reporter. How do YOU know that Jerry and Stephen Jones have these concerns? Because you choose to believe the media's baseless speculation. It fits into your own bias about Dez for whatever reason. Remember how the media told you all last year that Dallas was nervous giving Dez a contract that didn't have a babysitting clause? Jerry and Stephen go to Roc Nation during negotiations and somehow the media knows they were meeting with Jayz to talk about Dez needing a babysitter...totally baseless media speculation.

You need to realize that today's media is all about clicks and social media retweets. A story about nothing doesn't get the clicks. A story about Dez being a good father doesn't get retweeted. People love to read controversial topics. Any story where "insiders" or unnamed sources are used should be ignored and put into the proper category.

Regarding Dez getting help with financial responsibilities over the last few years....we don't know how true that even is. Dez didn't grow up in an environment where he had the parental guidance that Tony Romo had. He may not have been taught financial management and financial responsibility. This does not mean he is any less of a person than anyone else. It should never even be mentioned. Give the guy the benefit of the doubt. Every indication I have from Dez is that he is trying to be the best man and father that he can be. This is admirable considering the challenges he grew up with.

If you can't understand why I mentioned "the Gronk" when discussing how the media treats the two of them differently then I can't really help you understand it much better. Gronkowski is at a bar, party, frat boy style of vacation and party just about every other day. The media thinks it's cute. Dez is home with his family and training yet he gets negative stories written about him implying that he is an irresponsible street thug.

They also said the Cowboys have some concerns that he’ll be out of money by year 3 or 4 and would then be discontent and wanting more money from the team.

I would like to see some stats on this. I am sure it has to be over 50% of these guys go broke after leaving the league. I mean, if I were 26 years old and had 22M direct deposited into my bank account, I don't think I would make the best decisions on my own.

But he's spending all of his endorsement money, and comes from a rich family.
