Jerry believes the roster has the talent to be a top team

Only two teams have failed to reach the conference title game since the salary cap was implemented. One had an owner so bad he was forced to sell the team. The other has an owner who pretends to be GM and gives post-game press conferences.

It's not a coincidence.

:muttley: I guess Jerry thought the press interview was so the reporters could wish him a happy birthday and ask him what gifts he got. And yes old man, we do believe you are an idiot. Buffoon, dunce, imbecile and arse comes to mind. But as of now, we’ll go with idiot.

I wonder if Jerry is on any lists...

I completely agree with the premise of this post, however the Salary cap was implemented during the 1994 season, we last went to the Super Bowl in the 1995 season.

I can't believe I sound like I am defending this clown show, I most certainly am not. Just pointing out that fact. Doesn't make it any better.

I would assume it had not been around long enough at that point to fully shape the roster, but I could be wrong.

Salary Cap History Link

"With the beginning of modern free agency in 1993, the 1994 NFL season was the first one in which there was a universal amount in which teams could not go over in their spending on players. This first salary cap for the 1994 season was set at $34,608,000."

That was the year the 49ers were accused of circumventing it when signing Deion Sanders.

Jerry must have the sun in his eyes, because he can't see the obvious

He's living in la la land. Not enough bad teams in the NFC this year to hide the fact that we're a bad team.

Then he isn't watching the games very closely.

The Lions have a superior offensive line, 2 running backs a lot better than anything on this team, a TE who is as good if not better than Dallas and 2nd and 3rd WRs better than Dallas.

How exactly do we have the talent on offense to compete with them?
