OBJ has stated that he wants to stay with the next team that signs him. Wants to call it home, or whatever he said. At the same time isn't that also saying he doesn't want to keep moving with 1 year deals? Anything is possible, but does giving a free agent WR a 3-4 year deal sound like something Jerry would do?

I want a WR that wants the ball, I mean the inverse is you have a guy that doesn't care if he gets the ball. Michael Irvin was a Diva WR, I am sure Harper wanted the ball and went about claiming it his own way back in the day.

Aikman and Dak are not even in the same ballpark.

Dak just needs to scan the field and hit the open target without the added pressure of getting a diva the ball. This team isn't going to win anything with Dak conducting an air attack. We win running the ball ,throwing enough to keep the defense honest, and move the chains while playing high level defense. OBJ adds nothing.

I would actually prefer Suh. He's nasty on the field but off the field he's actually a great guy. I'm not a fan of OBJ at all. I've read the comments here about him maturing. I hope so if we do get him. I just don't want this team to get pass happy again. The formula we have right now is working with Dak only needing 25 and 27 attempts to win both his comeback games. It reminds me of the 2016 offense. I said I would stop being a Cowboys fan if we signed TO but after a few games of seeing how he helped Romo gain some confidence, I bought a TO jersey. I'd probably do the same with OBJ.

Jerry was saving money for next year for all our FAs but this is a perfect season to make some noise so that wildcatter probably will go all in. It's going to cost us next year but let's all hope and pray we get something gold and shiny out of it.
Don't forget your true statement is ONLY because of Pollard. If the JJ clown car reduces his carries we're totally sunk. Dak ain't Romo.:grin:

Zeke makes us more versatile. But Pollard does need more touches. I like having them both. But if Zeke isn't producing and Pollard is, I'll be the first to say Pollard should be starting.

And Dak is exactly like Romo at this stage of his career. They are both 18-24 against winning teams. Romo's career QB rating is 97.1 and Dak has a 98.2 QB rating. Dak has turned the ball over less. Romo has a 2-4 playoff record and Dak has a 1-3 record. The big difference is Romo's legacy is set in stone, Dak is still carving out his.:grin:

In my opinion, I believe he'll choose us if we make him a decent offer. I understand not wanting to overpay, but don't disrespect the man either.

jerry is just drawing attention to himself and his team by talking about obj lol.
probably all it is.
obj was injured, and though he looked good with the rams, this isnt the rams.

Yep, and are fans judging OBJ on pre or post surgery performance. They need to look at Gallup and accept that OBJ wouldn't be confident/up to speed until the tail end of the regular season.

The Jones' smell a bargain. OBJ either gets a couple of million 'show me' contract for the rest of the season or he signs a reasonably cheap (more team friendly longer contract).
I wonder if OBJ seems our game vrs the Packers as a tie-brake on his preferred team... I doubt he'd want to join a struggling offense (even if it has Rodgers).....Bills, with a QB with shoulder concern is just a no.

It's amazing... Fans know Jerry Jones is a snake oil salesman, but they keep buying a snake oil.
Jerry likes shiny things.
How many shiny things has he gone after during his days?

Roy Williams
Joey Galloway
Amari Cooper
Terrell Owens

And how many have helped us get to the NFCCG? Jerry's been here so long that some are starting to think like him...even though they hate him. Best GM in football, right?

There are also fans that ...'see player, want player', regardless of need or circumstances.
Improve by all means, however, the two factors against the deal (AT ANY RATE, as some appear to want) are 1) we are not in panic all-in mode 2) his injury doesn't warrant a long contract (unless it comes with team friendly risk considerations) .
Why spend top-dollar now, the market is falling our way (injuries to Packers and Josh Allen).
If the Rams paid what $4m for a FIT OBJ, why rush and outbid ourselves.
I suppose last consideration is what to expect from him... Gallup's return shows the recuperation isn't an immediate return to 100%.

Cooper and Owens were great additions.

The more Jerry talks and we hear from seemingly everyone within the building about how much they like Odell, I think it's it's less likely anything happens.

I dont know, it could be Jerry delaying OBJ's decision and waiting for his market to shrink as the other teams appeal falls away.
