The message should've been delivered behind closed doors. Announcing your draft intentions to the rest of the league makes no sense, but it's Jerry so...
If Jerry Jones knows how to do anything, it's to get playing the media like a fiddle and getting them to keep the Cowboys a hot topic. This is exactly why the team announced that they were releasing Kellen Moore on the same Sunday the conference championship games were being played out.

That's it, Jerry, consider only the other extreme end of the spectrum. There is just no "in between" when it comes to GM strategies on how to build a team. You either never draft a QB or you draft one every single year.

You should always have more than one legitimate option at QB. if you did, then Dak's contract would never have happened.

Jerry also told McCarthy recently, "He wants me to coach here as long as Tom Landry did." (We all know Jerry's track record with coaches.)
I just take Jerruh's football comments to the media with a grain of salt. Some call it posturing - I'd call it gaslighting.

So we're going to keep Dak 10 years while we groom a QB?

He said the same thing about Garrett. Nobody is accountable here. Jerry makes changes only when he absolutely has to. It took Wade losing the locker room for Jerry to fire him. Nothing Jerry says is that surprising.

LOL.

You guys are overthinking this.

Jerry is just saying they are gonna start throwing late round picks at QBs. Anyone thinking they are investing a Top 3 round pick on a QB is delusional until they admit Dak isn't the guy.
why would they do that when they have a great backup? unless Rush is leaving?

Smart move...they SHOULD'VE been doing this. Dak needs to feel some pressure.
The Dallas Dak fans here will take offense to this comment by you. You better be ready to be call a lot of child hood names buster….:flagwave:

They will lose talent this off season making it even tougher to win going forward, and I'm assuming Dak and his agents only wanting to hit a home run on this past contract is a big reason why. I'm sure Jerry sees this and is giving Dak 2 years to do something or he'll go a cheaper route after that.

I'm a Dak fan but Dak brought it upon himself after his contract (both length and amount) and his performance vs the Niners.
Your kind eats their own … watch out !
