Jerry: Cowboys are committed to drafting a QB

Cowboys, circa 2026: Roster management questions loom as franchise struggles to keep all four second-round QBs taken since 2023.

Hurts is a system QB.
Philly has a great defense and run game
I heard Sean Payton say this week that “the Eagles are doing (innovative) things in the run game that NO ONE IN THE NFL IS DOING”
Think about that statement for a second from a very very good HC who has been in the league 20 years
Meanwhile every team we play says that our offense is “simple” before and after the game
Well the default starting point to jazz up an offense with RPOs and further utilize the running game is to have a quarterback that doesn't look like he's running through cement...so perhaps that explains why Moore didn't go down that route.

Oh I do.

However. He didnt say in what round. LOL.
Right. He saw how things worked out for the Niners with the last pick in the draft so he’ll trade down in the 7th & pick a QB with the last pick.

ByTodd Archer said it best. If it's an early QB, who can provide competition, then that speaks to what they think about Dak long term. If it's a late rd QB, then it's just for backup purposes.

4th rd pick, at best.

I love how everybody gets into Dak Prescott mode when all this comment means is this:

Dallas is using a late round pick on the next Stephen McGee or Mike White because somebody is going to give Cooper Rush more money than they will.
Sounds about right.
Buzzing. Ok it took Jerry 7 years to see it but hey it takes some people a wee bit more time than others. What matters is that he got there in the end.
They were afraid to as someone's ego is fragile. Couldn't have any hint of competition. Now they don't care about feelings.
I'll believe it when I see it

Knowing Jerry, he has a plan to move his last pick back and back until he can draft a QB with the final pick of the draft. His future backup will be his very own Mr Irrelevant…..because it works.

So what QB with two broken legs, labrum tear are available in the 2nd round for us to draft?

Another QB I like in the mid to late rounds is Jake Haener from Fresno.

In the same day. Stephen says they are committed to Dak and Jerry says they are committed to drafting a QB.

And we wonder why this team hasn't done jack in 28 years.

Dysfunction at its finest.
Well, just because Jerry says we're drafting a QB does not mean it will be in the first 2 or 3 rounds. We need a QB. C Rush will be gone if I'm not mistaken.

They will lose talent this off season making it even tougher to win going forward, and I'm assuming Dak and his agents only wanting to hit a home run on this past contract is a big reason why. I'm sure Jerry sees this and is giving Dak 2 years to do something or he'll go a cheaper route after that.

I'm a Dak fan but Dak brought it upon himself after his contract (both length and amount) and his performance vs the Niners.

Sad isn't it ? I am not surprised anymore by this dysfunction... and I am out of energy to argue with fans are satisfying making it to the playoffs and beating 8-9 team. I want super bowls ... but I am not going to hold my breath.

I'd say 2nd through 5th (Cowboys don't have a 6th).

LOL.

You guys are overthinking this.

Jerry is just saying they are gonna start throwing late round picks at QBs. Anyone thinking they are investing a Top 3 round pick on a QB is delusional until they admit Dak isn't the guy.

You could be right, Jerry Jones might be hoping that he can luck out into another Romo or Dak QB project, since they were late to later round picks. Because they're probably not going to be trying to move up to get a QB, unless it's one of closer to the Mahomes tier. Probably going to be 3rd or later round. But at least their starting the process of drafting QBs, So we'll see what happens.
