We need this man, demands excellence out of every player. Would turn around our defense in a heart beat..

i'm not sure he ever goes the NFL route again after what happened in Miami.

who knows though, maybe he pulls a Pete Carroll and tries again after a while but i think it would have to be an ideal situation for him

Why in the world would we ever go after Nick Saban? Heck, UT could pay him more then we ever could and even then, did we not learn anything from his stint in Miami?

Saban and his wife are currently looking to buy a home in Austin. He is going to retire in four more years and he has made that clear. He already makes mucho dinero and has it made at Alabama. I wouldn't leave a very secured job just to go coach a team that most likely leads to termination. Well, it would coincide with his four year plan :)

NCAA Powerhouse Coaches rarely succeed in the NFL, mainly because they don't have the ability to recruit anyone they want and have a limit on great players they can acquire due to a salary cap. Saban can tell the number four running back prospect in the country that he can follow Ingram, Richardson, and Lacy into the NFL and sell them on signing with him. He can't tell the number four running back in the draft that he should go with Dallas at the #42 overall pick instead of Philadelphia at the #39 overall pick. The college coaches who successfully transition are usually the guys building mediocre programs into making the occasional BCS bowl, because they are doing it from the ground up without unlimited resources.

One bad experience in Miami doesn't mean he can't be successful with another organization. But the problem is, will Jerry allow a coach like Saban to take full control? I don't think Cowboys' biggest issue is coaching. It starts with ownership before everything else.

Saban would be perfect here, b/c he has a good offense. Just needs to focus on the defense..

LOL.... What? He has a basic run oriented offense that does not use the passing game very much. He has a basic NFL type defense that relies on talent to get pressure. None of that is going to work in the NFL because you are limited by your talent and I've been told more times then I can count that in order to win in the NFL, you have to be able to throw the ball.

No, he would not fit because the minute the run pass was 50/50, everybody in Cowboy nation would want his head on a spike.
